The Swans travel to Geelong, hoping to atone for the beatdown the Cats put on them in last year’s Grand Final. Both teams come off dominant last start wins and this looks the game of the round.

AFL Round 6 Preview & Betting Tips
Geelong vs Sydney
Saturday 7:25pm AEST, April 22nd, GMHBA Stadium
Cracking game this. Geelong have roared back into form with two dominant wins in their past two games after starting their season in a slumber. Granted, West Coast and Hawthorn are anything but world beaters, but you can only beat what is put in front of you and they’ve handled both of those teams with ease.
There’s no doubt Sydney will be hungry to avenge last year’s Grand Final loss which was more or less over by half time. After two straight losses to the hand of Melbourne and Port Adelaide, they bounced back with a dominant win over Richmond last week. The ‘Lizard’ Nick Blakey handed in one of the best games of his career, recording 30 disposals whilst Tom Papley played the game of his life, scoring six goals and 25 touches. He’s such a barometer to their side, so if he’s on early, it’s generally a good indicator for the Swans.
The market have got this very wrong in my opinion with Geelong listed as $1.40 favourites. I think they’ve overreacted after Geelong’s last two wins, as this is a much, much stiffer challenge than Hawthorn and West Coast, who occupy the last two spots on the ladder at the start of Round 6.
Sydney are a great bet at near $3, as I believe they are one of the top four sides in the league. Geelong are obviously right up there as well but the discrepancy in the market is too great, hence I’ll be having a decent crack on the Swans. Whilst Kardinia Park is clearly a fortress, the Swans have actually played the Cats well in Geelong, splitting it 3-3 over the past six meetings between the two clubs at that ground.

Jake Lloyd 25+ Disposals – So reliable in the Sydney backline and always gets a lot of the footy. Good for at least 7-8 kick-ins as well.
Luke Parker 25+ disposals - Stands tall against the good sides and gets plenty of hard balls in and under.
Ollie Florent 20+ Disposals – Having one of his best seasons to date. If he holds his form, 20 should be a sinch.
