AFL Round 13 Preview & Betting Tips
Adelaide vs West Coast
Saturday 4:35pm AEST, June 10th, Adelaide Oval
The Saturday twilight fixture in Round 13 will see Adelaide host West Coast at the Adelaide Oval. Both teams will be desperate to put in a good performance for different reasons, which makes for an intriguing contest.
Adelaide would be bitterly disappointed with their effort against the Gold Coast last weekend, particularly the second half where they completely lost their way. They held a 17-point lead heading into the main break, but ended up losing the match by 25 points.
Similarly, West Coast dished up two contrasting halves in their most recent matchup against Collingwood. Their supporters would’ve been thrilled with how their side performed in the first half, but not so much with their second half where they were thumped half 67-30 and ended up losing by 63 points.
The Crows have now lost four of their last six games but are still a decent 6-6 on the season which has them sitting 9th on the ladder. Meanwhile, the Eagles have now lost 10 on the spin and are glued to the bottom with just one win to their name.
It’s been an extremely challenging 18 months for the Eagles and unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel, at least for now.
The Eagles are struggling on both defence and offence and haven’t gotten within 40 points of their opponent since Round 2.
Moreover, the amount of opportunity their forwards get seems to be diminishing by the week, and that’s one of the reasons why they’ve failed to score 60 points in a match since Round 6.
Away from home and against a solid team in the Crows, I simply can’t see the Eagles covering their total points line which currently sits at 58.5 points.
West Coast Total Points Under 58.5

Rory Laird 30+ Disposals – Loves playing the Eagles as most do. 33+ disposals against them in each of his last four matches.
