AFL Adelaide vs North Melbourne Betting Tips
Adelaide Oval, Sunday 22nd August 4:40pm (AEST)
The final game of the round and the home away season certainly won’t be drawing in too many eyeballs; however, both Adelaide and North Melbourne will fancy their chances to secure a rare win and head into the off-season on a positive note.
Match Prediction
Adelaide were able to keep in striking distance of the ladder-leading Demons in their clash last weekend, but when push came to shove in the final quarter the Crows simply didn’t have the answers. That loss was the third in a row for the Crows, although all three have been against top four teams in what’s been a really difficult schedule. A win here and a likely Magpies loss against the Bombers would see the Crows finish the season in 16th position on the ladder, two spots higher than their wooden spoon finish in 2020.
North Melbourne also had a chance to knock off a quality outfit in their most recent outing, eventually falling to the Swans by 14 points despite coming within a goal of them in the fourth quarter. They too have now lost three games in a row heading into Round 23, with their most recent win coming against the Blues back in Round 19. It’s been an extremely tough season for the Kangaroos overall and unfortunately, it’s one that will end with a wooden spoon.
Adelaide’s squad lacks depth at full strength so it’s no surprise to see them struggling with all the injuries they have. Matt Crouch, Reilly O’Brien, Luke Brown and many more will be missing their final fixture due to injury. For North Melbourne, Ben Cunnington and Aidan Corr are the big names unavailable for selection, as well as young gun Tom Powell who’s shown plenty of promise in his rookie season.
This certainly isn’t the sexiest fixture to finish the home and away season with and it’s one that’s also very hard find some value in. Both sides are following similar form lines with losses in each of their last three games and both are also missing a ton of their best 22 players. The only thing that has the potential to separate these clubs is home ground advantage, which is the reason we lean towards the Crows to finish their season with a rare win.
Same Game Multi
We conclude the home and away season with another great value three-leg Same Game Multi. For the first two legs we’ll be taking North Melbourne players Jaidyn Stephenson and Luke McDonald to collect at least 15 disposals each. The pair have each accumulated at least 15 in each of their last eight games and should be good to get to that mark once again. Finally, for the value leg in our SGM we’ll be locking in Crows power forward Darcy Fogarty to kick two or more goals. Fogarty has had a breakout year of sorts with 24 goals to his name, including multiple goals in seven of his last 10 outings.
