Another winning day in our MLB betting tips took our season tally to 7-1 so far and we’ll be looking to improve on that this Thursday, the 10th of May as we take a look at some of the key games of the day and provide our betting tips below.
Houston Astros at Oakland Athletics (5.35am AEST)
Houston will be looking to continue their dominant start to the 2018 MLB season when they come up against Oakland in LA on Thursday morning. Gerrit Cole will be on the mound for the Astros, and has arguably been an early Cy Young candidate through his first few starts, maintaining a 3-1 record with a ridiculous 1.42 ERA.
He’ll be tough to beat here, especially if he gets any sort of run support from the dynamic Astros batting lineup. Daniel Mengden will be on the mound for the Athlietics, looking to improve on what’s been an ordinary start to the year. His 4.30 ERA should get some Houston bats back into form here, I like the away team to win this one comfortably.

Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees (9.05am AEST)
The best rivalry in baseball and one of the best in all of sport will get another instalment this Thursday morning as the Red Sox travel to new York to take on the Yankees. Former Cy Young winner Rick Porcello will start for the Red Sox and will look to maintain his winless record so far as he has started 5-0.
He’ll have a tough matchup Thursday against Masahiro Tanaka, who hasn’t had the best start to the season by his lofty standards but is always a massive threat, especially to Boston bats. Porcello hasn’t missed a beat this year, however, and neither have the Red Sox batters, as they have plundered the most hits and second most runs of any team. Back the away side again here.

Arizona Diamondbacks at Los Angeles Dodgers (12pm AEST)
Patrick Corbin has been one of the hottest pitchers in the league to start the 2018 season. He has a 4-0 record and is maintaining a 2.15 ERA through his seven starts. It’s a testament to the Diamondbacks pitching staff that they have been able to start with a 24-11 record given that the team sits last in the majors for total hits.
The Dodgers have got off to a shaky start to 2018 and currently have a 15-20 record. Alex Wood will be on the mound Thursday morning, and has been averaging to start the year with a 0-3 record. Can’t bet on that against an in-form Corbin, 3 from 3 away teams.
