We went 2-1 in last weeks MLB betting tips to take our season tally to 19-13 and we’ll be looking for another profitable day as we break down some of the key games in Major League Baseball this Thursday, the 12th of July.
MLB Betting Tips Thursday 12th July
New York Yakees at Baltimore Orioles (9.05am AEST)
After losing four of their last 10 games, the Yankees have now dropped 3.5 games behind the Red Sox in the AL East and will need to pick up the pace to bridge the gap to the Red Hot Boston who have won 9 of their last 10 games. They’ll face off against the Orioles on Thursday, who sit on the bottom of the AL East with just a 26-66 record.
Sonny Gray will be on the mound for the Yankees and will be looking to snap a personal three game losing streak where he has allowed 19 hits in his last 11 innings pitched at a whopping 12.27 ERA. The last three starts have blew out his season averages but he was impressive in his last start against the Orioles, picking up the win and allowing just one run on six innings.
Dylan Bundy will start for the Orioles after struggling in his first start back from injury last week. He allowed five earned runs through just over three innings but should work his way back into some pitching form in his 2nd game back. Baltimore have picked up two of the three games in the series so far but the Yankees have outscored them 19-13. We think New York take this one away from home.
Texas Rangers at Boston Red Sox (9.10am AEST)
Boston have won 9 of their last 10 games and are now sitting pretty on top of the AL East. Their batting has been absolutely lights out, hitting 45 runs through the last five games alone including a monster 15 run game against the Royals last week.
Boston will look to continue their hot streak on Thursday with ace Chris Sale on the mound, who has been great so far this season. He has a 9-4 record with a 2.36 ERA and was lights out in his last start against the Rangers, throwing seven innings for one run and the win back on the 6th of May.
Bartolo Colon will be on the mound for the Rangers and will be looking to earn one more win to become the winningest pitcher from Latin-America in MLB history. The 45-year old has underperformed slightly this year 5-6 record and a 465 ERA. He might have to wait until his next start to earn his record-breaking win here.

Los Angeles Dodgers at San Diego Padres (12.10pm AEST)
The Dodgers currently sit in second place in the NL West, 1.5 games behind the leading Arizona Diamondbacks. They have won 6 of their last 10 games and will have Kenta Maeda on the mound on Thursday afternoon. He pitched great in his last start, striking out nine and allowing just one run through just over five innings against the Angels last week.
After a shaky start to the season, the Dodgers have been rolling lately and have started to find some form with the bat on the back of some consistent pitching. Joey Lucchesi will be on the mound for the Padres on Thursday and will make just his fifth start since returning from injury.
The Dodgers are away from home on Thursday but will start as favourites with Maeda on the mound. In their current form we like them to earn the win here.
