We just missed out on a winner in last month’s Hungarian GP betting tips as we picked the Aussie Daniel Ricciardo to finish on the podium and ultimately finished fourth. 2018 Belgian Grand Prix Betting Tips
Lewis Hamilton made it two wins in a row when he took out the Hungarian Grand Prix just before the mid-season break last month. He now sits 24 points clear on top of the drivers championship standings, with Sebastian Vettel and teammate Kimi Raikkonen trailing. The pair of Vettel and Hamilton now have podium finishes in three of their last four races and each have a retirement as they look to stamp dominance over the field in the back half of the season.
Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Stavelot, Belgium has been the sole host of the Belgian Grand Prix since 1985 and is one of the longer courses on the tour and one with the most corners. It has been described by Aussie Daniel Ricciardo as a “long track but one where you feel that if you make a little mistake somewhere, maybe you can get it back, because there are so many corners and it’s never over until the full lap is done”.
Ricciardo himself has solid results at Spa-Francorchamps over the past few years. He finished third in the Belgian Grand Prix last year, second the year before and won the event back in 2014. However, the driver with the most success at the track is without a doubt Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen. Raikkonen has won the event four times, which is second to only Michael Schumacher with six wins and Ayrton Senna with five.
After retiring from his first two Belgian Grand Prix’s, Raikkonen went on to win the race the next three times he competed in it, which resulted in it quickly becoming his most successful track. Apart from retirements, of which he has had three, Raikkonen has finished in the top four of the Belgian Grand Prix in seven of 10 attempts. He enters the race in great form after five podium finishes in a row, which is the longest stretch on the podium of any driver so far this year. Back him to climb onto one of the steps once again.
