We hit on just one of three tips in last weeks MLB betting tips two make for a tough day. With just one week of the regular season remaining, we’ll look to hit some solid form before the playoffs begin as we preview some of the key games this Tuesday, the 12th of September below.
Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians (9.10am AEST ESPN)
The Indians are currently the hottest team in all of the major leagues and will look to extend their winning streak to a ridiculous 19 games when they host the Tigers on Tuesday. The Indians are hunting the record winning streak of 20 games set by the Oakland A’s back in 2002 and will have a great chance to set up a record tying game with Carlos Carrasco on the mound Tuesday.
Carrasco is 14-6 on the season so far, maintaining a 3.53 record and is on the back of a complete game against the White Sox last week in which he allowed just three hits. The case is made stronger for the Indians as they face a debut starter in Myles Jaye for the Tigers. The form of the Indians coupled with the pitching mismatch should see Cleveland win this one.
TIP: Cleveland -1.5 and OVER 8.5 runs - $2.53 at Sportsbet
Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks (11.40am AEST)
Another week of MLB betting tips, another chance to win some cash on the back of Zack Greinke. The Arizona ace has been absolutely lights out so far this season and earned a good underdog win for us last week against the Dodgers. He has a 3.01 ERA on the season with a 16-6 record through 28 starts and gets the favourable matchup Tuesday.
Kyle Freeland will be on the mound for the Rockies and will be looking to get his first win in four starts after going 0-3 over his last three with a average 5.40 ERA. The Diamondbacks have also been great with the bat against Freeland, with four of the mainstays in the D-Backs line-up hitting over .333 against the Lefty. At home, Arizona should be too strong here.
TIP: Arizona -1.5 $2.10 at William Hill
Los Angeles Dodgers at San Francisco Giants (12.15pm AEST)
While the Indians have been going off lately, the Dodgers still maintain the best record in the Major Leagues at 92-51 and will be looking to improve on that Tuesday against rivals, the Giants. Kenta Maeda will be on the mound for the Dodgers as right hander Chris Stratton lines up for the Giants.
Tough contest to call as the Dodgers have been going through a slight slump of late. Maeda has also struggled on the road throughout the season, maintaining just a 5.46 ERA away from Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers are heavy favourites in this one but San Fran shouldn’t be written off at home.
TIP: San Francisco +1.5 - $1.87 at William Hill
