Wyong Racing Tips: Wednesday January 18th
Race 4
(9) Royal Empress looks talented from her 2 trials and can run a race on debut here. There are a number of debutants in this race and it looks winnable for this filly if she can handle the pressure of race day. Willing to take a chance with her.
(4) Villa Tino also worked well in a recent trial but has the advantage of race experience over the top selection. He’ll be in this a long way but is short enough and not too exciting based on his first 2 career runs.
(8) Fourth Spargo is another runner on debut here and should be working home strongly at the end of the race. She’s given the indication that she has ability and can demonstrate it here.
(9) Royal Empress Each-Way
$5/$2 (1 Unit)
Race 5
(3) Jayanthi gets the nod in this event after trialling comfortably amongst some very talented horses. She was 2nd to Mariamia in her latest hit out who came out to win recently. Jamaea, Snippy Fox and Travest are among the other horses this mare has been keeping up with in her trials.
(2) Seven Sisters has been covered up in her trials as she returns from a mediocre 2yo season which saw her finish 4th in a Blue Diamond Prelude before underperforming in the grand finale. She could have improved significantly since then but it’s difficult to tell where she’s at off her trials.
(7) Justina got a lot her way when winning on debut and this is a much harder race. She’s shorter than I’d like but she’s not without a chance in this.
(3) Jayanthi Win
$3.10 (2 Unit)
Race 7
(6) The Unicorn can win this race with a bit more room than she had last time in the home straight. This race lacks depth and early speed which should allow The Unicorn to control it and win with Josh Parr aboard.
(5) Pink Baroque is the obvious danger but she admittedly looks a level below The Unicorn who should have her covered here. If something goes wrong for the favourite this is the filly I’d expect to capitalise.
(1) Definitely Maybe will need to improve of last win to win this race I thought. That said, winning form is the best form and she’s drawn well so she shouldn’t be far away.
(6) The Unicorn Win
$2.60 (2 Units)
