Another Wednesday is upon us which means we’ve got some good quality midweek racing, with Sandown, Sunshine Coast and Canterbury hosting today’s meetings.
Canterbury is currently a heavy 10 at time of writing and a stack of rain is forecast so there’s a good chance it may be called off. With that in mind we have previewed a couple at Sandown and the Sunshine Coast where we are sure to have racing for today's racing tips.
Billy Bestford has cast his eye across the form and has found today's best bets to get you over the midweek hump!
Today's Racing Tips: Wednesday, March 2nd 2022
Sandown Race 2
Thought (1) Va Via would be tough to beat with some decent form around her three career starts and looks well placed back to the midweeks. She wasn’t far off them in the BD Prelude and was less than 2 lengths off Latizia the start previously. Blinkers go on today and I think she will be too good for these who all come into today with no race experience.
Sunshine Coast Race 2
I’m happy to back (10) Summer Breeze here purely for the fact Allora Enzo has come up fav once again and is a deadset money muncher. Has been rolled now as favourite every start and I will be taking him on again. Summer Breeze was good first up off a long break and will take a heap of benefit out of the run. Looks ideal rising in trip now and I think she will be winning a race very soon.
Sandown Race 3
(4) Hardware Lane was scratched from Goulburn yesterday with this in mind and I have him on top due to his upside. Still just the four career starts for a win and a 2nd but there’s plenty of winning form around him and hadn’t been disgraced in some black type races last prep. Goes very well fresh and from a low draw he should be handy enough in the run.
Sunshine Coast Race 7
(6) Eccentric was only just beaten last start when only narrowly going down to Goldeel, who has since won again in stronger grade. They were well clear of the rest of the field and I think she is suited rising to the mile at her 3rd start now. Will roll forward from gate 9 and should give a strong kick in the straight.
Sandown Race 8
Keen to follow (3) Healing Game rising to the mile following an emphatic win over 1400m last start. He was absolutely smashed in betting that day and it looked like he might’ve been a certainty beat until Kah squeezed him through a gap late and he epxloded once in the clear. Was running away from them at the post and I think he looks like a horse who is very progressive and will eat up this trip. Kah sticks from a good draw and he can give this grade a shake.
