Hong Kong racing returns to Sha Tin today for another season of just over 800 races. It's an exciting card, as they always are over there, and as always Blake Lalor is back with the research and tips to help you find a few winners!
Good luck if you're getting involved today and don't forget to tune in each Wednesday and Sunday throughout the season for top Hong Kong racing selections!
Sha Tin Racing Tips: Sunday September 10th
Race 3: Yi Tung Shan Hcp (C4) – 1200m (15:25 AEST)
(2) Ready To Win looks slightly overpriced to me in this market. He’s dropping in class and was a horse I was watching closely late last season as he began to hit his straps up in class 3. Favourite looks hard to beat but at each-way odds this is a solid selection.
(1) Greenwich is the one to beat and should lead them up under Zac Purton. Don’t like how short he is after just 1 victory though and happy to take him on with a proven horse dropping in class.
(9) The Good Deal showed tremendous consistency last preparation and can just as easily continue that consistency into the new season. He’s one to keep an eye on stepping up in class and dropping significantly in weight.
(2) Ready To Win e/w
$5.50/$1.90 (1 unit)
Race 7: Sunset Peak Hcp (C3) – 1400m (18:30 AEST)
(7) Circuit Mighty sets up similarly to Ready To Win in race 3. He’s the 2nd favourite and should be closer to the favourite in my opinion. He’s drawn gate 1, possesses good early speed and trialled better than All Is Good finishing more powerfully through the line.
(8) All Is Good is the short favourite stepping up in class. He’s drawn gate 2 for a good run with Zac Purton aboard so he looks hard to beat. Can’t take such short odds though.
(1) Bon’s A Pearla can squeeze into the minors here given it’s her 2nd season in Hong Kong now and she may have enjoyed the extra time to acclimatise. She showed glimpses of ability last prep so could go on with it now.
(7) Circuit Mighty e/w
$6.50/$2.30 (1 unit)
Race 9: Lantau Peak Hcp (C3) – 1200m (19:35 AEST)
(1) Supreme Lucky has almost never drawn a single-figure barrier in his career. He’ll love gate 7 this time and has trialled nicely leading up to his return for the season. Expect him to salute against weak opposition with Zac Purton aboard here.
(6) Call Me Dandy is the nearest danger to the favourite here but doesn’t look super threatening. He ended last season with a win up in this class but now carries more weight and could find his mark.
(2) Beauty Crescent for the new jockey on the scene Andrea Atzeni may be able to sneak into the numbers from the low draw here.
(1) Supreme Lucky win
$2.70 (2 units)
