Rosehill Racing Tips: Saturday, August 31st 2024
Race 1: Midway BM72 1800m – 11:45am (AEST)
(3) Arts is a 5-year old mare who has been going okay. Looks suited over further now which we see today and James McDonald jumps into the saddle who is riding very well. Draws a nice gate here and looks the better horse on paper against the others listed. Proven third up, so will be finishing strongly.
(5) Agita is a rock hard fit 4-year old who gets back to 1800m where he finished 2nd four runs ago and looks to be striking distance. Zac Lloyd to steer boosts confidence and expect a bold run.
(6) Forecaster is a 5-year old mare who has been excellent in defeat at her most recent runs and now steps out to 1800m for the first time. Draws pole and loves to roll forward, so could be one to catch if she pinches a few early sectionals.
Race 6: Smithfield RSL San Domenico Stakes 110m- 2:40pm (AEST)
(1) Storm Boy is a 3-year old colt who has trialled exceptionally well after a handy prep last time round. Won the Group 1 Magic Millions and placed in the Golden Slipper, so he is no slouch. He draws perfectly for this here and is expected to be up on the pace dictating the race and giving the others something to chase. On paper looks the one to beat. Happy to be on.
(2) Gatsby’s was a dominant winner last start when blowing right past them to score by almost 2L. Remains unbeaten over 1100m and J-Mac stays on. Watch the market?
(7) Tropicus had a very nice win on debut and has since trialled nicely. Tougher here, but worth a shout off that debut run. Exotic play and knockout hope.

$2.40 (3.5u)
Race 8: Bankstown Sports BM100 1500m – 3:50pm (AEST)
(5) Ceolwulf ia a 4-year old gelding who should have finished much closer behind Tom Kitten last start where he blew the jump and settled 3L last behind the others. He tacked on and showed a brilliant turn of foot down the straight where he should’ve finished much closer. Rises to 1500m now which looks ideal after last start effort and will only be fitter from that run. James McDonald jumps in and draws a nice gate. Expecting him to get a better sit hopefully and can tuck in behind the front runners before peeling out and showing that nice turn of foot again we saw first up.
(10) Amor Victorious is a 5-year old who was well supported last start and led nearly all the way until Tom Kitten swooped down the outside to score. Deserves another crack, but adds another 100m to the trip off that previous run. Touch to far? Watch the market.
(13) Rise At Dawn is a 4-year old who boasts a nice record with 6 wins and 2 seconds from 11 starts, and is looking to make it three on the trot today. Drops back in trip here, but again is a main danger. Respect.
