While all the attention is on Moonee Valley and the Cox Plate this weekend, there's still 9 races at Randwick to find winners on Saturday!
The track is currently rated a Good 3 but there is a high possibility of rain, with up to 10mm predicted, which would see the track downgraded to at least Soft.
We have betting tips for all 9 races below, with a Best Bet and Best Value Bet for the day too!
Randwick Racing Tips - Saturday, October 22nd
Race 1 - Miss Ballantine
Comes up the equal outsider of the field at $7.50 but the step up to 1400m and on to the bigger Randwick track should suit this filly, as will barrier 1. She copped a check last start as favourite and then raced keenly, so I expect her to perform better today and looks a bit of value at the price.
Race 2 - Bulls 'n' Bears
Really poor race but this horse won a similar race last preparation at Randwick on Soft ground and looks ready to peak 3rd up from a spell today. Gets in reasonably with 57.5kg after the claim and is ready to win.
Race 3 - Nieta
Resumes off a 56-day break after failing as favourite last start, but did pull up with poor recovery and lost a plate. Her two wins previous to that were both on wet tracks and she looks to have a bit of ability so if she's ready to go today she is a strong chance. Biggest danger could be Rose Of Man in this grade.
Race 4 - Sir Plush (best bet)
Very good win first up over 1100m and no reason he can't win again here. Down to 54.5kg and draws barrier 1 - the concern is he has 0 placings from 3 starts on Soft ground but he did win a trial on Soft leading into his first up run so if he handles the wet he should win.
Race 5 - Religify
All the early money has been for Rock ForThe Ladies but I think Religify can win this after a big first up run over this distance. Fitter now and never missed a place over the distance. Berry booked to ride - again the concern is if the track gets too wet for him but if its Soft he should be a big chance.
Race 6 - Vassal
Looks ready to win 3rd up from a spell here. Finished 3rd last start but not beaten far at all, and he's never missed a place over 2000m so the step up in trip will help. Claim brings him down to 59kg and he handles the Soft going so looks a decent bet at $6.
Race 7 - Circular (best value)
Comes into this off a 3rd placing behind Sort After at Warwick Farm and importantly gets a 5kg weight swing in her favour today. Has won 2 from 3 on Soft tracks and has placed at all 4 runs over 1400m. Draws perfectly and should be ready to win at her 3rd run back from a spell. $7 available.
Race 8 - Happy Hannah
Comes out of a strong form race behind Dixie Blossoms and Lady Le Fay last start where she was strong through the line. Steps up in distance now and from barrier 12 she will go back to last and try to come over the top of them.
Race 9 - Choice We Had
Incredibly open race to finish off. Choice We Had finished 3rd to Morton's Fork last start, and that horse should have won in Melbourne but was held up the entire straight. Step up to 1400m suits, and if the rain comes he will love it. Needs luck from barrier 2 but should go close. Kandinsky and Lucky Fish also winning chances.
