All the attention stays on Caulfield this weekend but Randwick hosts its own 9 race card on Saturday, October 15th and we have horse racing tips for every race!
The track is currently a Good 4 and there's a chance we could see that upgraded with the fine weather predicted. The rail is in the True position.
Randwick Racing Tips - Saturday, October 15th
Best Bet: Race 5 - Invinzabeel
Think this is a great price we are getting about him currently ($4.20) and I expect that to shorten. Returned with a very good win first up. Kept fresh and stays at 1400m, should have the sit on them and be there at the end.
Best Value: Race 7 - Souchez
Talented horse that resumes here with the blinkers on for the first time. Tough little race and has to carry weight but he draws well and we are getting $8 about him which looks over the odds.
Race 1 - CITY TATTERSALLS CLUB VICTORY VEIN PLATE 1000m
Like the looks of Chris Waller's filly MADAME MOUSTACHE here. We tipped her last start at around $15 where she finished 4th. She should have finished closer on that occasion and from the good draw today she should be hard to beat at $3.90.
Tip: Madame Moustache
Race 2 - BARTIER PERRY HANDICAP 1600m
If FABRIZIO has recovered from his lung-buster in the Epsom then he shapes up very well to win this. Weighted well, drawn the rail and should just lead and win. Nothing to shout about with the price though.
Tip: Fabrizio
Race 3 - ARISTOCRAT HANDICAP 1600m
BEZEL has won both starts this prep and in good style. Goes up in weight here but I don't see that stopping him and he probably starts shorter than the $2.00 currently available. Best value in the race could be EARTH for Waller, who looks well over the odds at $10.
Tip: Bezel / Earth EW
Race 4 - TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP 1200m
Think the winner definitely comes from PUMPKIN PIE or ECKSTEIN here and at the odds you can back both.
PUMPKIN PIE has won both starts to date and was rather impressive in his latest win at Nowra. It's not easy to go from a maiden to a Class 2 and she did it with ease. From the good draw she can win.
ECKSTEIN finished 2nd to Impending last prep and resumed with a 4th behind a couple of handy types first up. She was caught very wide on that occasion so with the good draw here she can bounce back.
Tip: Pumpkin Pie
Race 5 - CITY TATTERSALLS CLUB HANDICAP 1400m
Pretty keen on INVINZABEEL here for Chris Waller. Trialled well and then resumed with a very good win in slightly lower grade. This is a bit harder but he's been kept fresh, stays at 1400m and should have the last shot at them in the straight. Think he's the winner and like the $4.20 available.
Tip: Invinzabeel
Race 6 - CITY TATTERSALLS CLUB CUP 2400m
Tough race with a number of hopes. SENSE OF OCCASION can win again after two good runs in much harder grade. Will run the 2400m and if he reproduces his run from the Metropolitan last start he can win but five of the eight horses in this race have winning claims.
Tip: Sense Of Occasion
Race 7 - AINSWORTH BRIAN CROWLEY STAKES 1200m
Looking to back both SOUCHEZ and GUARD OF HONOUR here.
SOUCHEZ has always had the talent and he resumes from a spell after two promising trials. He wears the blinkers for the first time today and first up last prep he was just edged out in Group 2 company.
GUARD OF HONOUR saluted for us first up and he hasn't raced since. He did get all the favours on the occasion and will have a tougher time of it here from barrier 11 but he's got talent and won a trial by nearly 5 lengths leading up to this.
At the prices we can back both at $8 and $5.50 respectively.
Tip: Souchez / Guard Of Honour
Race 8 - ICD PROPERTY NIVISON 1200m
Keen to back the favourite EGYPTAN SYMBOL here who is undefeated first up from a spell. Has only missed one place from 5 attempts at this distance, has had two trials leading into this and is well up to this grade. Stable flying and should go well.
The value in the race is FITOU and NANCY, both around the $10 mark.
Tip: Egyptian Symbol
Race 9 - CITY TATTERSALLS LIGHTNING 1100m
Decent race to finish off with quite a few winning hopes.
KINGLIKE gets his final chance with me. The horse has always had ability and was touted as a Group 1 horse; we backed him first up but he raced way too fresh. Has won a trial leading into this and if he reproduces his best form from last prep he should win this.
Tip: Kinglike
