Randwick Racing Tips - Saturday December 31st 2022
Race 4
(9) Waverider Buoy can run well in this event after showing good promise early in her career and failing on a bottomless track in the G2 Furious Stakes. She was impressive finishing alongside derby winner Manzoice prior and has trialled well leading up to her return.
(2) Pretty Wild is consistent so far never missing the quinella but this means the market is with her and she’s going to be short in most of her races. She’s the one to beat but just too short for mine.
(8) Po Kare Kare can also run well and is drawn to do so for Nash Rawiller. She’s trialled quietly and should be ready to go here.
(9) Waverider Buoy
$8.00/$2.50 (1 unit e/w)
Race 6
(3) Steely ran 2nd to Nugget on two separate occasions. That’s top form for this. The horse is drawn gate 1 and should get the run of the race here. He wins with even luck for mine and is a great price as favourite.
(7) Mach Schnell gets the nod as the biggest danger to the favourite in this race as he is set to carry only 49kg for Ellen Hennessy. He won’t know himself with such little weight to carry and would go down as disappointing if not in the finish.
(2) Purple Sector is a capable horse coming out of some strong form races. This is a clear drop in class for him coming back to handicap grade so expect a solid performance.
(3) Steely
$3.00 (2 units)
Race 7
(2) Ain’tnodeeldun takes a drop in grade here with the move north to Sydney. He has contested open and listed races recently running 2nd to Grandslam and 7th beaten only 3L to French Emperor. This is far easier and Right You Are has won since after beating this horse last time. Should win.
(5) Too Much Caviar will probably look a likely winner for a long way as he possesses strong early speed and should dominate this race from the front. It’s a big field so the risk he gets taken on by another or a few other horses is high but with any peace in front he could pinch it.
(4) Tony Be has to be considered a chance in this after producing the fastest last 600m of a bm88 last time behind Global Ausbred. He’s drawn wide and will get back but if there’s pace on he’ll be storming over the top late.
(2) Ain’tnodeeldun
$4.00/$1.90 (1 unit e/w)
