2025 ICC Champions Trophy Betting Tips
Pakistan vs India
Dubai International Stadium, Sunday 8.00pm (AEDT)
Pakistan
Predicted XI:Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan (c), Agha Salman, Kamran Ghulam, Khushdil Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Harris Rauf, Abrar Ahmed
Pakistan kicked off their tournament with a disappointing loss to New Zealand on Wednesday night. Bowling first, they allowed the Kiwis to pile on 5/320 off their 50 overs, led by centuries to Will Young and Tom Latham. Abrar Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers, taking 1/47 off his 10 overs at a healthy economy rate.
In a further blow to Pakistan, top order batsman Fakhar Zaman suffered an injury early in the game and will now miss the remainder of the tournament. Imam-ul-Haq qill likely be the replacement to come into the side, however, he has not played an ODI game since the 2023 World Cup.
India
Predicted XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav
India were fantastic with ball in hand in their opening match of the tournament against Bangladesh on Thursday night. Mohammed Shami stepped up in the absence of running mate Jasprit Bumrah, taking 5/53 as Bangladesh were bowled out for just 228.
India then made light work of the target, chasing it down in just over 46 overs and losing just four wickets in the process as opener Shubman Gill notched up another international hundred with 101* off 129 balls. It's likely that India will go in with an unchanged line-up for this clash.
Match Prediction
Can't see a lot of value in the H2H market here. India will win this game, I have absolutely no doubt of that. Their squad is the strongest in the competition and are playing great cricket at the moment. They also have the added benefit of having been settled in Dubai for the last few days, whereas Pakistan have had to travel for the game, despite it being a home tournament for them. Back India to win.
Prop Bet
Virat Kohli's form slump has been widely publicised over the last year or so but he has put up scores of 52 and 22 in his last two ODIs and has a great white ball record against Pakistan given the limited cricket he has played against them. Averages 52.2 in 16 ODI's against Pakistan and 70.3 in 11 T20 games against them. Back him to make 50+ here.
