Welcome to our horse racing preview and betting tips for racing on Monday, July 13th.
The weekend is done and dusted but there is still plenty of racing action to look forward to this Monday, the 13th of July! Luke Krahe is back to run you through his best bets of the day from Tamworth and Murtoa below.
Horse Racing Tips: Monday July 13th
Tamworth Race 1 - (Market)
(2) King Coni is a son of Nicconi as the name would suggest having his first start for the Cameron Crockett yard at Scone. He trialed back in May but was given more time, his latest hit-out at the trials was at his home track last week. He was fairly away and railed through nicely to lead, got around the bend well and after kicking a couple of lengths clear, was soft through the line to score. The margin could have been greater and good to see Bullock rides today as he did in that trial. A replay of that trial can be found here. I expect him to be very well backed and start shorter than the $3+ that is currently available.
Tamworth Race 4 - (Market)
(7) Golden Missile looks the best of good things to break her maiden today. She has had two starts, debuting here at Tamworth she was very well supported late in the betting and after a good run in transit, was a little wayward in the run to get into second but did have every chance. She then was at Scone in a harder maiden than this, got further back on the rails and after getting to the middle of the track, ran on well in a race where it was more suitable to be up on the speed. The second horse across the line that day was Toto who was backed as if there was no settling at Grafton during the week and duly saluted, it looks the right form for a race like this. Anything near black figures is a gift.
Murtoa Race 3 - (Market)
(6) Faithful Diamond has been runner-up at both of her first two career starts, she debuted at Casterton and was huge odds, she showed speed and was on the pace in a line of 3 up front and stuck on well to go down narrowly. She then went to Ballarat on the synthetic track and showed good tactical speed again to lead. She was headed inside the furlong but didn’t shirk the task and stuck on well, albeit beaten by the better horse. She steps up from 7 furlongs to the mile, should be able to carve over and dictate, go again in the run if she gets a soft lead.

Murtoa Race 7 - (Market)
(7) Glassey Miss was a soft track winner two starts back at Donald, she was well ridden to save ground on the turn before joining in early in the straight and running away for a soft win. She then went to Bendigo in a harder race than this, she was mid-field in the run and looked a little plain to the eye. It turn out to be favourable up on the speed so the run wasn’t as bad as it looked, the senior rider goes back on which also looks a plus. With a genuine tempo, expect her to be finishing best. Play each-way if you can get better than even money the place.
