The Warrnambool Carnival is over, but we've got another big weekend of Group 1 racing ahead, so we march on and try to build the bank with our best bets around Australia this afternoon!

Horse Racing Tips: Thursday, May 7th
Kembla Grange Race 3 - (Market)
(3) San Antonio is a first-starter for the Grand Annual winning stable of Maher/Eustace. His first trial at Warwick Farm he landed straight on the bunny after jumping well, railed nicely into the straight and was easy through the line to score in the quickest trial of the day for the 2YO’s. His second trial was on the synthetic at Warwick Farm and he again jumped well. He wasn’t hustled and just sat in the middle of the track stuck five wide throughout. As they balanced up, he let down nicely and wasn’t pushed out but cruised through the line to win. A replay of that latest trial can be found here. Obviously, there are plenty of unknowns here, but this guy looks to be well above average.
Kembla Grange Race 5 - (Market)
Playing small ball and going each-way with (9) Hirondelle from the James Cummings and Godolphin set-up. She is a 2YO filly taking on the older horses, she was ok on debut ion the heavy track at Hawkesbury at big odds running on into third. She then came here last time against her own age group again and was very well supported from $5-$4 in the official flucs. She again got back in the run and was making ground when she was inconvenienced at the furlong pole. She should have finished closer, hopefully she can settle handy and not be giving them such a big start. It’s always a tough ask for the babies to take on the older horses, but she looks to have upside and this is a very winnable maiden.
Leeton Race 4 - (Market)
The Leeton Cup is the feature of the day in the west of NSW, albeit at BM58 grade. (3) Bravado Lass is a little bit of an enigma of late, she has won two of her last four but the runs in between have been only fair. She will probably want an improving track to get into the good range, both of those failures lately have been on rain affected surfaces. She was brilliant winning at Albury four back after sitting behind the speed, this is a big drop back in class from her run at Wagga over the carnival last week. On the quick back-up, on top of the ground with the claim, she can continue her pattern of win, fail, win, fail... WIN!
Werribee Race 3 - (Market)
(7) Royal Admiral had trialed well prior to making his debut back in September last year, his run was encouraging and then stepped up to the 1400m at start two and again ran through the line well. He was sent to the paddock and resumed at Sandown after having the best part of 7 months off. HE was well supported from double figures in on the soft track, settled a mile back in the run before chasing well over the 1300m. A horse that finished alongside hi that day has since come out and won a Bendigo maiden easily. He steps up from the 1300m to the mile second-up, the way he has attacked the line at all three starts suggests the mile should suit. Zahra sticks with the ride.
