US Open Final Betting Tips
Women’s Final
Serena Williams vs Bianca Andreescu (Sunday 6am AEST)
It’s the old vs the new in the women’s US Open final, with 37-year-old Serena Williams going up against the 19-year-old Bianca Andreescu. Williams is the $1.31 favourite to win at Sportsbet, meaning Andreescu is the $3.35 Andreescu.
Serena Williams was the favourite going into this tournament and for good reason. She’s a six-time US Open champion and a 23-time Grand Slam champion. A win on Sunday would tie Williams with Margaret Court for the most Grand Slam titles ever with 24. Williams has looked at her best during this fortnight and made extremely light work of world #5 Svitolina in the semi-finals, just as we predicted. Not only is Williams facing Andreescu in the final, but she may be up against some of her own demons, seeing as she’s lost each of her last three Grand Slam finals. Regardless, she’s the best female tennis player of all time and will deservedly go into this clash as the odds-on favourite.
Bianca Andreescu is the new kid on the block in the women’s Tour. The young Canadian has enjoyed a breakout season that has seen her soar to #15 in the world rankings. This is just her fourth ever Grand Slam tournament that she’s participated in, and her first ever US Open. Amazingly, she’s failed to qualify for this tournament in the two years prior. Regardless, she’s played some incredible tennis this year, particularly this week, and has earned her right to go toe-to-toe with the best in the business on Sunday morning in the bid to win her first major title.
We mentioned above that Williams is the odds-on favourite to win and we actually think she should be shorter than she is. She has a huge experience advantage of Andreescu and will have the home crowd well and truly on her side. We have her winning this in straight sets and tying Margaret Court’s 24 Grand Slam titles in the process.

Men’s Final
Rafael Nadal vs Daniil Medvedev (Monday 6am AEST)
Much like the women’s draw, the men’s final will feature an old veteran champion against one of the best up and comers of the next gen. We’ve got Spain’s Rafael Nadal taking on Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the US Open final.
Rafael Nadal was in good form in the lead-up events and that’s well and truly translated to a fantastic fortnight of tennis in New York. He’s playing some of his best ever tennis at this tournament, which is saying something considering he’s a three-time US Open champion (2010, 2013, 2017). Nadal is the current world #2 and is an 18-time Grand Slam champion, which is two shy of Roger Federer’s record of 20. Considering both Djokovic and Federer were knocked out relatively early this week, Nadal has the perfect opportunity to close the Grand Slam gap to just one.
Daniil Medvedev has had a sensational couple of months and is looking to cap it off with his first ever Grand Slam title. The young Russian has soared to #5 in the world rankings and will climb even further in the new rankings update post-tournament. Medvedev made light work of Grigor Dimitrov in the semi-finals and has shown the ability to play his best tennis when the lights are shining brightest.
Despite the recent heroics of Medvedev, we just can’t see Nadal letting this golden opportunity slip. The pair met for the first time on Tour just a couple of weeks ago in the final at Montreal, which Nadal won extremely comfortably (6-3, 6-0). While we expect a better fight from the Russian this time around, we can’t see him reversing the result.
