2018-19 NBA Betting Tips: Thursday 14th March

March 13th 2019, 7:59pm, By: Jake Smit

It proved to be a tough slate to pick on Tuesday as we went 1-2 on our NBA betting tips. It may have put an end to our streak of profitable days, but we’re confident we can bounce back with some winning plays from the six games on Thursday. Check out our best bets below and good luck to everyone following!

NBA Betting Tips Thursday 14th of March

Orlando Magic @ Washington Wizards (10am AEDT)

The Magic comes into this in some poor form that they’ll have to turn around sooner rather than later if they’re to make the playoffs. They’ve lost three of their last four, with the most recent being an eight point road loss to the Grizzlies on Monday. As it stands, the Magic are two games outside the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference standings with 14 games to play.

The wizards are another team vying for one of the final playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. Despite being without John Wall for the majority of their campaign, the Wizards have put together a record that has them 3.5 games out from the eighth seed with 15 games to play.

These teams have already met each other three times this season, with the Wizards leading the series 2-1 after winning their most recent meeting in Orlando. The Wizards also get home court advantage, where they’ve put together a more than respectable 20-12 record, which looks great compared to the Magic’s poor 13-21 away record. At near even odds, we like a play on the Wizards at home here.

Washington Wizards -2.5

$1.92

Memphis Grizzlies @ Atlanta Hawks (10:30am AEDT)

The Grizzlies enter this in some very surprising form having won each of their last three games, two of which were against playoff teams in the Jazz and the Blazers. However, it’s definitely worth noting that all three of those wins came on their home court, and they now have to hit the road where they’re 10-23 on the season. it’s simply too little too late for the Grizz, whose season ended a long time ago.

Meanwhile, the Hawks are coming off a big home win against the Pelicans on Monday where rookie Kevin Huerter put in a huge performances. There’s been plenty of promising signs for the young Hawks, who have been a lot more competitive than many thought they would be entering the season.

As mentioned above, the Grizzlies are a poor road team with little to nothing to play for. On the other hand, the Hawks young guns have been building all season and are finally start to gel as a team. With no travel for over a week now, we expect the Hawks to get the job done here at generous odds.

Atlanta Hawks Win

$1.87

Golden State Warriors @ Houston Rockets (12:30pm AEDT)

The Warriors haven’t been playing like themselves lately and find themselves in a tight battle at the top of the Western Conference standings. They haven’t won back-to-back games in 11 contests, losing six games during that span. It’s far from panic stations for the back-to-back champs, but they’ll want to get in a bit better touch before the playoffs commence.

In contrast to the Warriors, the Rockets are absolutely flying at the moment. They’ve finally got their full complement of players fit and are looking like a team that can challenge the best come playoff time. The Rockets have won nine on the spin and are making a late push to the first seed in the Western Conference standings.

The Warriors may be the best team in the NBA, but they simply aren’t playing like it of late. They may be able to ‘flick the switch’ against certain teams even if they’re out of form, but we just don’t see it happening against a Rockets unit with nine consecutive wins under their belt.

Houston Rockets Win

$1.80
