The fantastic 2018-19 NBA season continues on Tuesday, the 13th of November with a big nine game slate ready to play out. There are plenty of intriguing match-ups within the slate that seem to hold great value that we’ll be looking to exploit. As usual, we’ve provided previews and betting tips for the three best value games of the day
NBA Betting Tips Tuesday 13th November
Philadelphia 76ers at Miami Heat (11:30am AEDT)
The 76ers franchise have had a huge couple of days after playing their part in a blockbuster trade that saw them ship off two handy role players in Dario Saric and Robert Covington in exchange Jimmy Butler. It’s still not clear whether the Sixers management is done shopping as they’ve seemingly left themselves very thing at the guard/forward positions. Nevertheless, they’ll be travelling to Miami to take on the Heat in an arena where they’ve won their last two battles.
Meanwhile, the Heat will host the Sixers in the fourth and final game of their current home stand. It’s been a largely disappointing start to the Heat’s 2018-19 campaign, winning just five of their opening 12 games to sit in 10th position in the Eastern Conference. They’ve been ravaged by injuries to key players to start the season and will hoping to go on a winning run now that they’re starting to get their troops back.
We’re extremely surprised to see the Bookies price this one as a near coin toss. The Sixers have been diabolic on the road this season, winning just one of their seven games so far. On top of that, they’ve just lost some key players via a trade and by all reports will be without Jimmy Butler for this clash. It’s hard to see the Sixers being competitive against a solid Heat team at home here.
New Orleans Pelicans at Toronto Raptors (11:30am AEDT)
The Pelicans have found themselves all square at 6-6 after 12 games on the back of a few big winning and losing streaks. Strangely, they won their first four games, lost the next six and have now won their last two. So it’s fair to say that you don’t really know what type of Pelicans team is going to show up.
On the other hand, the Raptors have been in amazing form since day one of the 2018-19 season. Led by Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry, the 12-1 Raptors have the best record in the NBA to date. They’re a perfect 6-0 at home, with their lone loss coming against a red-hot Bucks team on the road about two weeks ago. What’s also amazing is the manner in which they’re beating teams. In the six games they’ve played at home the closest an opposition has been is seven points, which was the Timberwolves on October 25.
As mentioned above, the Raptors have been humiliating just about every team that comes to their building. When you couple that with the fact that the Pelicans are 1-5 on the road this season, it seems that a -7 start is terrific value.
Toronto Raptors -7 Handicap

Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Clippers (2:30pm AEDT)
The final game we’re interested in from the big Tuesday slate is the Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Clippers match-up. The Warriors have had a great start to the season, going 11-2 and sitting in a familiar position on top of the Western Conference standings. However, they’ve recently run into some injury problems, with Draymond Green missing a few games and Stephen Curry now set to do the same. They’re not as deep as they have been in previous seasons, so we feel like they’re about to get severely tested.
Meanwhile, the Clippers continue to take care of business against the lesser teams in the competition and now sit in seventh position in the Western Conference standings with a 7-5 record. Without any real superstar, the veteran Clippers have found success working well as a team and taking care of the ball. If they can continue their solid form there’s no reason why they can’t push for one of the final playoff spots in the West.
In recent years, the Warriors have usually been able to replace one of their stars for a game or two when they’re injured. However, they’re nowhere near as deep this year and we think they’re in trouble on the road against a professional outfit like the Clippers. We’re tempted to take them straight, but have gone down the safer route with the + handicap.
Los Angeles Clippers +3.5 Handicap
