Disappointing day in NBA betting tips on Saturday as we hit on just 1/3 tips in a tough slate. The 2018-19 season continues this Tuesday, the 30th of October with a fantastic nine game slate. We take a look at some of the key matchups of the day and give our betting tips below.
NBA Tuesday 30th October Betting Tips
Toronto Raptors at Milwaukee Bucks (11am AEDT)
Probably the game of the round in my opinion sees the only two remaining undefeated teams in the NBA facing off in the Bucks and Raptors. Both teams currently sit at 6-0 on the season so far with star players Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kawhi Leonard have a big impact for their respective sides throughout the first six games.
The Bucks will have the home court advantage on Tuesday but will start as slight 2-point underdogs in the game. They are currently 3-1 against the spread at home and 4-2 against the spread over all. Antetokounmpo is carrying a head injury into the game but should be right to play
Hard to pick a winner here between two undefeated teams but we are going to give the slight advantage to the Bucks given then are at home and are getting a 2-point head start. Unless Antetekounmpo is a late withdrawal, which is something to keep an eye on, we love the value of the Bucks here.
Los Angeles Lakers at Minnesota Timberwolves (11am AEDT)
Another great contest here between two teams that have been a little maligned in the early parts of the 2018-19 season. The Lakers started their season with three losses in a row but have since won two of their next three games and currently sit in 11th place in the Western Conference with a 2-4 record. Rajon Rondo returned to the line-up after serving a three-game suspension from his fight with Chris Paul while Brandom Ingram will be back for Tuesday’s game.
The Timberwolves currently have a 2-4 record and will be coming off a 30 point drubbing at the hands of the Bucks on Saturday. Star guard Jimmy Butler played just 24 minutes and scored only 4 points in the loss to re-spark fresh rumours over his future in Minnesota and whether he will be traded in the coming weeks.
The Wolves are a bit of a rabble at the moment with the rumours surrounding Jimmy Butler and his future at the team. They have the home court advantage here but we are leaning towards the Lakers, who have found some form over their last three games. The Lakers are just 2-4 against the spread but have been extremely competitive in every game they have played. They are yet to lose a game by double digits and will be back to full strength on Tuesday.
New Orleans Pelicans at Denver Nuggets (12pm AEDT)
The final game on the nine game slate features two early contenders in the Western Conference in the Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans started the season on a four game winning streak but an injury to star centre Anthony Davis forced him out of Sunday’s game against the Jazz, which they ended up losing by 21 points.
Davis will be a game time decision for the Pelicans on Tuesday and due to that, the Pelicans have opened as big 8-point underdogs. Without Davis in the line-up on Sunday the Pelicans looked terrible on defence, allowing one of the lower scoring teams in the league in the Jazz to drop 132 on them.
If the all-star centre doesn’t play on Tuesday there’s potential for the Nuggets to drop another big score on them. Combine that with the fact that the Pelicans have been one of the highest scoring teams in the league throughout the opening few weeks and we think the overs looks good here.
