San Francisco Giants at Oakland Athletics
Where: O.co Coliseum, Oakland, CA
When: Tuesday 8th July 2014, 12.05pm AEST
Starters: R.Vogelsong Vs Jesse Chavez
Today is the first game of a four game, two city series between the San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics.
These two teams have created quite a rivalry over the last 10 years which stems from the 1989 World Series.
This year both quality teams are shaping up as final contenders.
The Giant’s slugger Hunter Pence will lead from the front today, and is currently on an 11 game hitting streak and has also been named in the all-star game.
Oakland’s starting pitcher Jesse Chavez gave up four runs at Miami and before that he allowed five in a loss to Detroit. The Giants should continue to take advantage of Chavez’s poor form.
Ryan Vogelsong is in better form than Chavez, he just hasn’t had any run support. Vogelsong’s comments have all been positive despite the fact he hasn’t received any offensive support from his team mates.
This is a great mindset for a starting pitcher and we believe there is value with the underdog today.
We are also leaning towards the under on total run score.
