The 2018 PGA season continues this weekend as the US Open is scheduled to be played from Shinnecock Hill Golf Course in New York. There has been abunch of hype surrounding the tournament and it could be one of the most open fields we’ve seen in a while. We give our best tips for the weekend’s action below!
2018 US Open Betting Tips
Outright Winner
It’s always tough to single out a winner in a field of over 150 players, however, some trends have emerged throughout the PGA season so far and a few players standout for us. Wide fairways and tight, treacherous greens are the name of the game at Shinnecock, which plays into the hands of average-long drivers and particularly strong iron players.
There’s no better iron player in the world than Justin Rose. The Englishman has time and time again proved his consistency on the PGA tour and is already a one-time winner of the US Open. The $15 shot already has two wins this season and six top 10 finishes in just 11 tournaments. Is probably the most in form player in the world at the moment and one of our picks to win the tournament.

$1.70
Another player we fancy has to be Jason Day. The Aussie is back to his best in 2018, already having racked up two wins and four top 10 finishes through 11 tournaments this season. Was disappointing by his lofty standards with a 20th place finish at the Masters and will be desperate to get back to the major form that saw him place top 10 including one win in six out of eight majors in 2015/16.

Props
One prop I love for this year’s US Open is Brooks Koepka to finish higher than Jordan Spieth. Since finishing third at the Masters a few months ago, Spieth has had a horror run of tournaments. He has played five events, missed the cut twice and finished 21st, 32nd and 41st in the other three. Good golfers go through rough patches and it seems that’s what is happening to Spieth at the moment. I wouldn’t say the course really suits him either, as strong putters like Spieth shouldn’t have the advantage at Shinnecock Hill. Koepka has some good results of late including a 2nd at the Fort Worth Invitational and a 11th at the Players last month.
Koepka to finish higher than Spieth

Hideki Matsuyama has been the most consistent performing Asian player on the PGA tour for years now, and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t continue that form into the US Open this weekend. He has placed 13th and 16th in his last two tournaments and has a relatively easy field to go up against in the top Asian player market.
