The All Aged Stakes is the final Group 1 meet of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival. It’s been an exciting few weeks, and we hope that you’ve found a couple of winners. Let’s finish the carnival with a bang!
The Royal Randwick track condition was a big talking point last weekend, with our tips provided on Heavy, but the track drying out to a Dead by the end of the meet. This week there might be a little rain Friday, but again we should see a track in the Dead range.
The favourite is Rebel Dane who opened at $4 but has been well supported into $3 to be a warm favourite. Rebel Dane is coming off a fine 2nd place to Lankan Rupee in the TJ Smith a fortnight ago, and has two wins from three starts over the 1400m distance. The favourites have a good record in the All Aged Stakes with seven wins from the last ten, so everything is stacked in his favour.
The main threats will come from Weary, coming off a strong third in the Doncaster, and Steps In Time. Others include Tiger Tees who has enjoyed a good season, but would prefer a wet track, and Shamexpress who will be making up ground late.
Verdict: It’s hard to go past Rebel Dane, but with the rail out nine metres, the front runners are likely to have an advantage heading into the straight. Keep an eye on how the track is playing throughout the day, but considering having something on Steps In Time at $5.
