2017-18 NBA Preview & Betting Tips for Saturday, 3rd February
Miami Heat At Philadelphia 76ers (12:00pm AEDT)
The Heat were desperately close to moving up to the 3rd seed in the Easter Conference standings, but eventually fell to the Cavaliers by 2 points on the road. Despite the loss, Miami are in really good shape and now have an All-Star participant in Goran Dragic! The Heat will continue their road-trip on Saturday when they face the 76ers. The Heat are one of the best road teams this season, boasting a healthy 16-12 record and an incredible 18-10-0 ATS.
The 76ers suffered a disappointing loss in their last outing against the Nets on Thursday. The Sixers remain in 8th position in the Eastern Conference with a 24-24 record and 5-5 in their last 10, which highlights their struggles with consistency. However, they will return home for their duel with the Heat, which will be a quick 1-game homestand. The Sixers are 12-10 straight and 13-9-0 ATS at home.
Even if they don’t get the desired result the Heat will give 100% in every game, which means they’re always in with a chance. We’re comfortable with taking them at the line in this Eastern Conference showdown.
TIP: Miami Heat at the line +4 - $1.95 at Sportsbet
Utah Jazz At Phoenix Suns (1:00pm AEDT)
Utah Jazz are coming off their best win of the season, demolishing the Warriors by 30 points! However, they are still a long way off a playoff spot and will need a lot more of those performances if they’re to feature in the post-season. The Jazz will now take to the road for a 4-game trip which will begin in Phoenix on Saturday. Utah have been extremely poor on the road all season and have a 7-19 record and 11-15-0 ATS.
The Suns recorded a much needed win on Thursday when they claimed their first wire-to-wire victory of the season against the Mavericks. The Suns have an extremely youthful roster and have struggled to play at the required level to win games on a consistent basis. They have a poor record at home, with just 9-17 straight and 10-15-1 ATS.
Utah will be on a high after their latest win over the Warriors, but we’re tipping them to come out complacent against the Suns. The Jazz are terrible on the road and we can’t see this changing anytime soon.
TIP: Phoenix Suns at the line +6 - $1.95 at Sportsbet
Golden State Warriors At Sacramento Kings (2:30pm AEDT).
As mentioned above, the Warriors suffered their worst loss of the season in their clash with the Jazz on Wednesday. Despite the loss, Golden State Warriors remain on top of the Western Conference and have the best record in the league at 40-11. There are times at which the Warriors are simply disinterested in regular season games, which is totally understandable. However, after an embarrassing loss like that at Utah, we’re confident they will be locked in from the tip-off.
The Kings are another one of those teams that have nothing to play for at this point in the season. They are 16-34 and are in the mix for a top pick in this year’s draft. They will host the Warriors on Saturday in their first of a 4-game home-stand. They are 7-14 and 9-12-0 at home this season, which is among the worst in the league.
We expect the Warriors to bounce back with an emphatic win after their recent loss to the Jazz.
TIP: Golden State Warriors at the line -13 - $1.95 at Sportsbet
