The 2017-18 NHL season continues this Wednesday, the 8th of November and we are back with another round of betting tips for the key matchups in the nine game slate including the Fox Sports televised LA Kings at Anaheim Ducks.
Los Angeles Kings at Anaheim Ducks (2.00pm AEDT Fox Sports 503HD)
The LA Kings have had the best start to the season in franchise history. They still are on top of the Pacific Division ahead of Vegas with an 8-2-2 record. Surprisingly they have have dropped two of the last three, with the latest defeat coming in OT to the Nashville Predators. As strong as Kopitar and Brown have been, the real news is how good Jonathan Quick is this year. Already two shutouts to his name and is second in save percentage in the league.
Anaheim was always going to find it tough at the start of the season, playing without Ryan Kesler and a hand full of injuries. They have dropped the last three and have really struggled offensively. The Ducks will be hoping to get back Ryan Getzlaf for this one as he tries to recover from a recent injury to the face. This is the first matchup for the year and with both teams coming off losses. Expect a tough game against these two rival teams.

St Louis Blues at New Jersey Devils (11.00am AEDT)
Western Conference leaders the St Louis Blues head to Newark take on the Devils in one of the matchups of the night. The Blues have been great offensively scoring ten goals in the past three games. But they may be short handed with their number one forward Vladimir Tarasenko suffering a upper body at practice. The Blues have won the past seven against the Devils can they push for number eight?
The Devils keep on showing up and haven't showed any signs of slowing down. With one of the youngest teams in the league they have shown they aren't just a walk over. New Jersey lead the all competitive Metropolitan Division ahead of the Blue Jackets and Pittsburgh with a 9-3-1 record. What is impressive about the Devils is the ability to win at home and on the road, they are 4-2-0 at home this season and are fourth in the league for goals. Can they break the drought on Wednesday morning.

Edmonton Oilers at New York Islanders (11.00 am AEDT)
Well everyone is asking the same question, what has happened to the Oilers? Even though we are so fresh in the season, there has to be a few nervous Oilers fans wondering when they will get it together. One of the better teams in the 2016-2017 season now sit second last in the Conference with a dismal 4-8-1 record. They have some trouble with the forwards as they are 31st in the league for goals and the same rank in the shooting percentage. Cam Talbot is expected to get his 13th start of the year as he tries to better his 4-7-1 record.
The Islanders have been perfect at home this year with five wins and one OT loss.
With Jordan Eberle now in New York, the Islanders forward line is starting to look threatening. The Islanders are coming off a win over the Avalanches with Nick Leddy and Eberle both scoring doubles in the 6-4 victory. Things have changed a lot since last year as the Islanders are now ranked third on goals and their power play percentage right up there ranking eighth in the league.
TIP: New York Islanders H2H - $1.80 at Ladbrokes
