PGA TOUR
Farmers Insurance Open
WHERE: Torrey Pines Golf Course, LaJolla, California
WHEN: Friday 24th January 2014 , 2:00 AM
Formally known as the Buick Invitational. A tournament in which Tiger Woods has absolutely dominated. In fact, since 1999 when Tiger won this event for the first time he has gone on to win it another 6 times. This means when Tiger tee’s it up on the weekend he is about a 50% chance at winning it or so the records would indicate. So at $3.50 is Tiger actually value in this Tournament? You could argue for and against.
With the amount of talent on the PGA Tour at the moment I would argue against. This course sets up well for left handed golfers and also golfers that fade the ball (Tiger Woods). This is evident by Phil Mickelson winning it a bunch of times as well as Bubba Watson. Both sweet swinging lefty’s.
This Tournament looks wide open to me.
Coming into this weekend with a lot of form is Phil Mickelson. A three time winner of the Farmers Insurance Open and if he has put that horrible finish (triple bogey) last week out of his mind then he will be hard to catch. More value than Tiger at $11.
Keegan Bradley also looked very close to finding something at the Humana Challenge.
Ben Crane is 100-1. But has won here in the past and seems to always win something each year on the PGA Tour. Big Value play.
