The Australian daily fantasy sports (DFS) revolution continues!
Not only are fantasy sports enthusiasts able to play at Fantasy Games Australia and MoneyBall Australia, now what will arguably be the largest daily fantasy sports site in the country has launched.
Draftstars began offering its daily fantasy sports services on Thursday, March 31st and will be running the biggest AFL Round 2 daily fantasy tournaments available, along with other sports such as NRL.
Launched by Fox Sports, Draftstars is also a partner with Australian sports betting site CrownBet and an official partner of the AFL. Those are some huge companies behind this venture and will no doubt make Draftstars the daily fantasy sports leader.
“As Australia’s sport leader with a dedicated AFL channel and coverage of every round LIVE and with no ad-breaks in-play, millions of AFL fans already delve into the game with our broadcast and digital platforms every day," said Fox Sports CEO Patrick Delany. "Draftstars is a natural extension of the way we connect with Australians’ passion for sport, bringing together our broadcast credentials with CrownBet’s gaming expertise to allow AFL fans to immerse themselves in the sport in a whole new way.”
Draftstars features a world-class daily fantasy platform, allowing for participants to pay a small buy-in to create their fantasy team based around a single day, game or round of whatever sport they are interested in. If your team scores the most fantasy points, you will win the biggest share of the prize pool!
For their launch, Draftstars are running a massive $10,000 prize pool AFL DFS contest for the Collingwood vs Richmond game. The event costs $15 to enter and the eventual winner will take home at least $10,000.
There is also a massive $25,000 prize pool contest running on Saturday - an event which also costs $15 to enter and will award at least $3,750 to enter! These are huge prize pools and a great way to have playing fantasy sports just as you would on free platforms like SuperCoach.
The most enticing aspect of DraftDay's launch is that they are using software provided by US-based company DraftDay. The software is world-class and is sure to make playing at DraftStars a pleasure.
There is no doubt the partnership with CrownBet is going to be a big advantage for Draftstars as well as CrownBet become the first major sportsbook to venture into daily fantasy sports.
“In creating this joint venture between CrownBet and Fox Sports, we believe we are bringing a global leading product to Australian fantasy fans," CrownBet CEO Matt Tripp said. “We are launching our product early to coincide with the start of the AFL season, to give Australian sports fans the chance to try it out and let us know what they think. We have an exciting road map of additional sports and features, including a mobile app in the coming weeks.”
Before You Bet will be watching Draftstars closely and will no doubt bring you more information and hopefully some enticements for you to give Australia's newest daily sports offering a try!
