A super three-game slate this Sunday to close out Round 7 of the 2025 AFL Premiership season. Things get underway with a key clash between Gold Coast and Sydney at People First Stadium on the Gold Coast. Surprisingly it's the Suns are are currently sitting in the top four and will be looking to solidify their position, while the Swans are looking to get their season back on track and move back up towards the top eight. We then move onto the MCG where Carlton and Geelong will meet in the marquee match of the day. The Blues have stablised their season with wins in their last two games, but will face another big test against the 6th placed Cats. Finally we get a twiglight game at Marvel between Hawthorn and West Coast. The Hawks have slowed after a fast start to the year but should get a comfortable win in what will be the hammer game stack option for daily fantasy players.

Weather
Gold Coast – 28 degrees and parlty cloudy.
Melbourne – 18 degrees and possibly morning shower.
Marvel – Roof option, no issues.
Nothing of major concern for fantasy scoring. Lets play!
Where to Attack?
Sydney have been getting slaughtered through the midfield this season giving up the second most points in the league to inside midfielders over the last five rounds. This is a beautiful setup for their matchup this week as the Suns have one of the in-form middle lines in the league right now.
It would come as absolutely no surprise that West Coast have been conceding the fourth most points in the league over the last five weeks to key forwards at over 7 points per game above league average. General forwards have been even better, giving up over 9 points above league average during this period, the second most in the league. Even better, the Hawks are just under 10 goal favourites in this matchup.
The Eagles have been giving up the most points in the league to the desginated kicker, while Geelong have also been giving up high scores to both the designated kicker and general defenders.
Game Script – Hawthorn forwards, Gold Coast midfielders, Carlton backs
VALUE PLAYS
Jack Ginnivan ($9,040) has been in horrific form this season, which resulted in him being dropped to the VFL last week. He responded immediately with 23 disposals and 4 goals at the lower level. I expect that will likely switch him into gear for the season and he draws an elite matchup to keep that form going against West Coast. Value plays across the board for the Hawks forwards, and Ginnivan has showed plenty of ability to rack up fantasy scores in the past averaging 74 points per game last season, including two games of 100+.
Henry Hustwaite ($9,000)… the Hawks sub selection will be interesting as Hustwaite has seen that role plenty when has been called up the seniors in the past. But with Will Day and now Connor Nash out someone will have to pickup the opportunities as an inside midfielder. Hustwaite has been long spruiked for the Hawks and is coming off big scores in the VFL (126 points in Round 2, 129 points in Round 4). If Hustwaite is the sub, look to Cam McKenzie and Josh Ward as other options to pick up extra midfield responsibilities.
MID PRICED PLAYS
Mitch McGovern ($10,520) has taken plenty of kick in duties throughout the season and if not him it will typically be put in Adam Saad’s hands, which would make for a nice mid priced back line Blues stack. McGovern has been in great form the last two weeks with scores of 100 and 89 and will draw one of the top matchups for defenders against Geelong this week.
Dylan Moore ($13,200) has long been the Hawks top fantasy scoring forward. Averaging 92 points per game last year, he's had a very slow start putting up just 69 a game in 2025. But this is the best matchup you will find in the league for forward lines and I will be spending up looking for a ceiling game in the 100+ point range from Moore.
PREMIUM PLAYS
Matt Rowell ($14,870) has had a ripping start the season along with all of the other Gold Coast midfielders. There will be a tag watch with James Jordon in the lineup, but based on the stats you can expect the Suns midfielders to score well against the Swans here. Rowell is priced nicely at under $15k and has the ability to go up to 120+.
Tom De Koning ($15,340) is another player who has been out of form in recent weeks after a ripping start to the season. But any time you are a ruck matching up against the Cats you can expect a boost to your performance. Geelong have been giving up the most points in the league to opposition rucks over the last five games at almost 10 points per game above league average. De Koning showed huge upside through the first three games of the year with two scores of 130+.
