Sandown Racing Tips: Saturday, February 1st 2025
Race 2: Henley Homes Handicap - 12:45pm AEDT
(1) La Don De Vie hasn’t won in two and a half years and I reckon this is D-day for this horse who does have a lot of ability. The step up to 2400m suits and although versatile on all conditions, a Good track seems his best. He struggled with heavy weights his last couple (unplaced) but he does get a 1.5kg relief for this race. This is the easiest race he has raced in for sometime and he should be running top 3 in this.
(6) Beltoro is another who hasn’t won in a while but a Dry tracks suits here after he ran on well at Flemington last start for 5th. Before that it was a similar good effort at the Valley (4th) when he picked up a couple down the straight.
(2) First Immortal has won 5 from 14 on the Dry and is the likely favourite in the race for the Kavanagh stable. He will be hitting the line strongly. He has Blake Shinn on and he has won on top 3 times before.
(1) La Don De Vie E/W

Race 5: Lamaro’s Hotel Chairman’s Stakes - 2:30pm AEDT
(2) Forceofone for Team Hayes gets the nod after the Super Seth colt won a barrier trial at Werribee on January 17. The stable has a good record with first starters and with Michael Dee on, the trio look a formidable combination. In the Werribee jumpout Forceofone was 3rd before he strode out well down the straight to win the trial. Werribee is generally a leaders track so with the horse picking up the win from midfield shows me that he has a good turn of foot.
(3) Hot Sea won a Cranbourne trial last week after he went forward. Jamie Mott takes the ride for the Bedgood team and confidence will be up on the back of two trial wins.
(6) Sword Of Legacy has had a run (2nd), and it was solid enough at Flemington. Damien Lane was on that day and he has stuck with him. With experience on raceday already, he will attract support.
(2) Forceofone

Race 9: Lamaro’s Hotel Geoffry Bellmaine Stakes - 4:55pm AEDT
(9) She’s Bulletproof was 2nd beaten a nose at Geelong last start and she continued her good form by winning a trial at Pakenham on January 21. She likes Good tracks and the appointment of Mark Zahra is a good one. All career wins have been over the 1200m but she does see Lakeside for the first time. Barrier 10 is a slight concern but I’m putting a lot of trust in the jockey here for a peach of a ride.
(4) Mirval Rose has drawn a good barrier in 10 and should get a lovely run from Williams. She won on New Years Day with Willow on top but she hasn’t won over the 1200m yet.
(5) Wrote To Arataki had a poor Spring but has bounced back well with a trial win at Camperdown last week. Does like Dy tracks and when she is on, she is pretty good. Watch for market support maybe.
(9) She’s Bulletproof
