Randwick Racing Tips: Wednesday, January 22nd 2025
Race 3: Proven Thoroughbreds BM72 – 1550m - 4:05pm (AEDT)
(1) Sweysive $3.20: 5YO Gelding who has been racing honestly and finally got a break through last start in this grade over 1400m last start holding off the swoopers nicely. He is yet to miss the drum over this trip at 1550m and loves the wet tracks. Terrific Randwick track record and Josh PARR for Bjorn BAKER is a deadly combo. Hard to look past again. On top.
(3) Fiddlers Green $3.50: Dominant winner when resuming over 1400m and then again ran well third up over the mile, but most recently was disappointing. However pulled up with heat stress. Expect him to be back ready to fire, but prefer him on the dry. Next best.
(4) Mickeys Medal $12.00/$3.00: Roughie of the race who should be hard fit now and he looks suited over this distance. Gets in nicely at the weights and rates nicely. Blow out hope.

Race 4: Tab BM72 - 1800m - 4:40pm (AEDT)
(1) Sly Boots $3.80: 4YO Gelding who has returned nicely this prep with 2 thirds and a win second up. Looks suited out in trip and must be respected. Will need to lug 61kg which is the only concern. Chance.
(2) Captain Maverick $4.60: 4YO Gelding who hasn’t been all that far away and is closing on another win. Back out to 1800m where he is a 2:1-1-0. Rock hard fit and Tommy BERRY gets into the saddle for WALLER. Draws well and looks ready. Goes well.
(5) Heaven Bound $9.00/$2.50: Each way chance in the race who also has a handy record over 1800m. Goes well on the soft track and is well rated against the others here. Sneaky chance and worth thought.
(2) Captain Maverick

Race 5: Ranvet BM72- 1250m – 5:15pm (AEDT)
(4) Outback Angel $6.00/$2.05: 4YO Mare who was dominant second and third up winning by more than 6L combined. Found one better last start when having to carry 60kg. She is rock hard fit and gets back down in weight with Matthew CAHILL to steer who is a top jockey. 1250m the only query. Maybe too far?
(5) Up To Mischief $4.20: 4YO Mare who has been far from disgraced of late and gets in nicely against similar grade this time round with a 2kg claim engaged. Perfect draw and should be ready to peak fourth up. Watch the market, but this price looks value. Goes well.
(8) Laurel Hill $21.00/$4.80: Roughie of the race who looks underrated against them here. She has some handy form behind some tougher opponents and goes well fresh. She gets in with only 51kg on her back with Owen claiming 3kg. Wide barrier the only concern and she probably goes better over further, but with the light weight and previous form lines this looks a winnable race if things go alright from the wide draw. Blow out hope.
