Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate family, friends and above all else, football! This Friday offers a fantastic three game slate in the NFL for Thanksgiving and we have you covered with a full preview and betting tips for all three games below!
NFL Thanksgiving Day Betting Tips
Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions
4.30am (AEDT)
In previous years, the staple Detroit game on Thanksgiving has been a bit of a snoozefest, but over the last few seasons it has sprung back to life with the resurgence of this Lions offence. The Lions are the best team in football at the moment, sitting atop the NFC North standings with a 10-1 record. They are 9-2 against the spread with some huge blowouts wins thanks to their No.1 rated offence, which is putting up 32.7 points per game.
On the contrary, the Bears have a bottom 10 ranked offence in the league, putting up just 20.1 points per game and currently sit at the bottom of the NFC North with a 4-7 record. They have lost their last five games in a row by an average margin of 8.6 points and have covered the spread in just one of those games.
The line has opened at a whopping 10.5 points here but I still don’t think that’s enough. This Lions offence has been absolutely electric this season and of their 10 wins, they have already posted six by double digits. I think they blow out the Bears at home.

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys
8.30am (AEDT)
What shaped up to be a classic NFC East Thanksgiving showdown when we saw this on the schedule in the pre-season has turned out to be a less than mouthwatering matchup. The Cowboys have stunk this season, maintaining a 4-7 record straight up and 3-8 against the spread after being one of the best teams in the league last year. They are coming off a thrilling win over the Commanders in Week 12, but their chances of making a miraculous playoffs run are still all but zero.
The Giants are having an even worse season. At 2-9, they have the equal worst record in the league and they are a dismal 3-8 against the spread. The Giants defence has actually been quite solid this season, ranking in the top half of the league allowing just 22.9 points per game, however, their offence has been deplorable, ranking dead last in the league with just 14.8 points scored per game.
The Cowboys start as 3.5 point favourites here but I’m staying away from that line given how poor both of these teams have been this season. Opting for the overs here instead. This total has been driven all the way down to 37.5, which I think is a little low. The last six straight Cowboys games have all gone over that total.
Miami Dolphins at Green Bay Packers
12.20pm (AEDT)
The final game of the triple header sees the Packers hosting the Dolphins in what is sure to be a cold affair in Green Bay. The Packers rolled on to 8-3 on the season with a super impressive win over the 49ers on Sunday Night Football in Week 12, winning by 28 points on the back of a brilliant game from RB Josh Jacobs. They are also 8-3 against the spread this season, having covered in six of their last seven.
The Dolphins battled through a period without starting QB Tua Tagovailoa but his return has marked a change of form, as they have won their last three games on the spin to move to 5-6 on the season and keep their playoffs chances alive. Their offence hasn’t been nearly as dynamic as it was last season, ranking in the bottom 10 in the league putting up just 19.5 points per game.
Hard to look past the Packers here at home in what should be trying conditions for a Dolphins team that is used to the warm weather. They start as 3.5-point favourites, which I think is a little low given the spanking they just laid down to the 49ers. Back them to cover easily here.
