Week 6 in the NFL boasts a fantastic 12 game slate throughout Monday morning, leadined by an interesting clash between the Giants and Bengals in the marquee time-slot. Check out our preview and betting tips for the key games on the slate below.
NFL Week 6 Monday Betting Tips
Washington Commanders at Baltimore Ravens
4am (AEDT)
An interesting cross-conference clash here pits two of the top performing teams of the season so far against one another as the Ravens host the Commanders. Washington have started the season in hot form, winning four of their opening five games, their last two over the Cardinals and Browns by an average margin of 24.5 points. They have the No.1 rated offence in the league, averaging 31.0 points per game.
The Ravens also have one of the most high powered offences in the league, averaging 29.4 points per game and putting up more yards from scrimmage than any other team, averaging 447.6. Lamar Jackson has been in stellar form through the Ravens opening five games while new star running back, Derrick Henry, has already scored seven touchdowns.
The Ravens start as heavy 6.5 point favourites at home, but I’m leaning more towards the overs in what should be an up and down game. In the 10 combined games these two teams have been involved in this season, the over is 8-2.
Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys
7.25am (AEDT)
The Lions are 3-1 on the season and will have the added benefit of coming off their bye week in Week 5, giving them an extra few days rest over their opponents. Jared Goff has been solid without setting the world alight throughout four games, ranking middle of the quarterback pack in both passing yards per game as well as passer rating. While the Lions offence is still ranked in the top 10 in the league, their defence has been much more reliable this season, allowing just 20.5 points per game, good for 10th in the league.
The Cowboys lost in Week 2 and 3 but have bounced back with wins over the Giants and Steelers in their last two games, both on the road. They will be back at AT&T Stadium this week, where they are 0-2 this season but have an impeccable record over the previous two seasons, going 16-1 in games under the dome.
For that reason, I like the Cowboys starting as underdogs at home. The Lions have travelled just once this season and face a tough stretch with four of their next five coming on the road. Back the Cowboys to cover with a three point headstart.
Cincinnati Bengals at New York Giants
11.20am (AEDT)
Certainly not the most glamorous of Sunday Night Football clashes as the 2-3 Giants host the 1-4 Bengals in the marquee fixture. The Bengals only win this season came over the Panthers in Week 4, but they were very competitive against a strong Ravens outfit last week, going down by just three points at home. Their offence has been firing over the last three weeks, putting up 35.0 points per game, unfortunately, their defence ranks 31st in the league, allowing 29.0 points per game this season.
The Giants sit on the other end of the spectrum. Their defence, allowing just 20.8 points per game, currently sits inside the top 10 in the league, however, they have been unable to get anything going with ball in hand, putting up just 17.8 points per game, the 6th worst mark in the league.
The Giants have the better record here but the Bengals look like they are in slightly better form. They matched it with one of the best teams in the league last week in the three point loss to the Ravens. The Bengals have been dominant in cross-conference games in recent memory, going 10-1 straight up in their last 11 against NFC opponents.
