Sale Racing Tips: Wednesday October 9th 2024
Race 5: Bennett Electrical Handicap 1740m - 3.20pm AEST
(2) Freight Train looks to have a bit on this lot. He ran over the mile here last time out when off the speed and chased strongly but had to settle for a second to Electric Impulse. Third up and hard fit, the depth is nowhere near as deep, keen on her prospects.
(6) Mornington Pier is there to pick up the pieces if Freight Train is off his game. He has been runner up in both runs back, the latest over the mile at Cranbourne when near last and finished off strongly late. If he can settle closer in the run, he takes beating.
(5) Delightful Journey has a good record at the track and is a track/distance winner. He ran third over the mile at Cranbourne last start, leading and giving a strong kick but couldn't quite see it through and just felt the pinch late. If he leads and gets control, he's dangerous as a place prospect.
(2) Freight Train

Race 7: Morelli's Furniture & Bedtime Handicap 1010m - 4.30pm AEST
(1) Martial Music is short enough but he does look to have a bit on these. First run for the new stable came at Sandown when near the speed and chased strongly when third to Mantua. Gets B Shinn, lands on speed and all things being equal, he's too good.
(10) Free Willed is a very dangerous prospect if she brings her best. Been a little while since she has shown that but at her best, she is a Saturday class mare, and her recent work has been more than encouraging to my eye. Watch the market.
(2) Core Concept comes here with fresh legs after a first up win at Bendigo back in August, holding the rail and produced sustained speed to win and win well. Good test here, but with that racing style, he'll give himself every chance.
(1) Martial Music

Race 8: Ladbrokes Own Spring Handicap 1210m - 5.05pm AEST
(11) Samurai is worth a throw at the stumps in the last. Team Freedman trained four-year-old that resumes, having not raced since June 8 at Flemington when down the track, producing an end of prep run, behind Lady In Pink. Can sprint well fresh, trial work has been good, he'll be strong late...can win for sure.
(8) King West is the map horse and is easy likeable here after a couple of wins on the bounce, the latest at Cranbourne when getting a suck run in transit before being asked for the effort and he found to fend them off and win. Confident he measures up.
(2) Raetihi is a Team Browne trained gelding that resumes after doing some nice things when last in work, notably during the night season at The Valley. Better suited over further but the stable is humming so watch the market.
