NFL Week 2 Monday Betting Tips
New Orleans Saints at Dallas Cowboys
3am (AEST)
Both of these NFC rivals kicked off their seasons with super impressive Week 1 wins and will be looking to continue their momentum when they meet in Dallas. The Cowboys travelled to Cleveland and were slight underdogs to start the game but ran out 16 point winners on the back of a dominant defensive performance, accumulating six sacks, two interceptions and a touchdown on that side of the ball.
The Saints had a little easier task in Week 1, facing off against what many predict to be the worst team in the NFL in the Carolina Panthers. New Orleans put up a Week 1 high 47 points in the win as star running back Alvin Kamara racked up 110 all purpose yards and a touchdown. There’s no doubt, however, that Kamara will have a tougher matchup this week against the impressive Cowboys front seven led by Micah Parsons.
I absolutely love where this line is at for the Cowboys at home. I suspected it to open somewhere around 7.5 to 8 points in favour of the home side but a dominant win over a lacklustre Panthers side last week for the Saints has tightened that line to a manageable six points. I think the Cowboys are a much better side here and I expect this to be a double digit win for them at home.

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs
6.25am (AEST)
The Chiefs were dealt a tough test in Week 1 and passed it with flying colours, defeating what looked to be a red hot Baltimore Ravens team by seven points at home. Patrick Mahomes opened up his season with a solid game, passing for 291 yards on 20/28 attempts with one touchdown, but it was rookie Xavier Worthy who stole the show. The first gamer had two touchdowns in the win and now provides Mahomes with yet another threat on the ground and through the air.
It’s becoming a trend for this Bengals team to start seasons in a sluggish way. They were seven point favourites at home against the Patriots in Week 1 and looked dismal as they went down 16-10. In the last six years, through 11 games in Week 1 and 2, they have recorded just one win, and now face going 0-2 yet again with a matchup against the red hot Chiefs.
Once again, I think this line is a touch too low here considering how poor the Bengals looked in Week 1, combined with the injury concerns surrounding their quarterback Joe Burrow. I think the Chiefs are out for blood this year and are keen to prove themselves as arguably the best team of all time with a dominant season and a third straight Super Bowl. Back them to cover the spread and likely win by double digits here.

Chicago Bears at Houston Texans
10.20am (AEST)
Certainly wouldn’t have been one of the more glamorous Week 2 Sunday Night Football matchups in years gone by, however, both the Texans and Bears are 1-0 so this one is shaping up to be an interesting clash. Despite a pretty poor offensive performance overall, the Bears defence was outstanding in Week 1, recording two interceptions, two sacks and two touchdowns to help the team to a 24-17 win over the Titans.
On the contrary, the Texans got the job done via offence on the back of new recruits in receiver Stefon Diggs (two touchdowns) and running back Joe Mixon, who piled on 178 all purpose yards and a touchdown in the win. With their shiny new toys, the Texans should have one of the more dynamic offences in the league this season, led by star QB C.J. Stroud.
A lot of things had to go right for the Bears to win against the Titans in Week 1 and I feel like that defensive performance will be tough to repeat on regular basis. On the other hand, it seems as though the offence the Texans showed is likely what they’ll be bringing to the table most weeks given the talent they possess on that side of the ball. I think they will put up points again this week and I like the overs here, especially under the dome.
