North Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs

North Melbourne’s win against the Eagles in Round 13 looks to have bred some confidence within the group, as their two performances since have also been much improved despite just falling short on each occasion.
The Kangaroos failed to get within four goals of their opponent for the first 11 games of the season, but have been highly competitive in each of their last three, winning by nine points and losing their last two by a combined four points.
In a big blow for the Roos, young gun George Wardlaw has been ruled out of their next two matches as he’s entered concussion protocols after copping a head knock at training on Thursday.
The Western Bulldogs have also shown great improvement over the course of the season. They had their bye last weekend but recorded their best win of the year in their most recent outing when they thumped the Dockers by 67 points (149-82).
The Bulldogs have now won four of their past six games and their only two losses during that span came against two of the form sides in the competition in the Swans and the Lions.
The Dogs will also be bolstered in attack this weekend with Sam Darcy returning from suspension and Aaron Naughton recovering from a knee injury. They are among three changes this week, all of which weren’t forced.
Match Prediction: Although North fans would be pleased with how their team performed over the past three weeks, the Dogs are present a much tougher challenge than recent opponents, and the big 38.5-point line is certainly justified.
However, there looks to be some value in taking the overs in the total points market in this clash. The overs have hit in each of the Dogs last six matches at Marvel Stadium, and the Dogs have also posted 6x 100+ point games this campaign including a whopping 149 last start. On top of that, the Roos have conceded 100+ points on 12 different occasions.
