Sha Tin Racing Tips: Saturday January 13th
Sha Tin crept up to us on a Saturday this weekend. There are a few strong chances at short prices which i’m keeping an eye on. Magic Millions Day just got a bit more exciting with 10 more races on the day!
Race 2: Lam Tei Hcp (C4) - 1200m (15:30 AEST)
(1) Top Scorer has the run under his belt now and although he wasn’t able to win on debut he did enough to suggest that win will come today 2nd up. Zac Purton aboard at short odds. Gets it done.
(8) Master Mastermind is a debutant by Deep Field. We’ve seen in Hong Kong how talented the Deep Field horses can be and this one looks to have ability too. Always hard to back them over horses with race experience but this one is the danger.
(9) Second To None was 4th on debut and like this favourite, will benefit from the race experience. Expect him to run well.

Race 8: Tai Tong Hcp (C3) - 1200m (18:35 AEST)
(10) Magnificent Nine is going to go straight past this field of horses if he produces a run like he did last start before being completely blocked for a run and cruising to the line alongside some of his main rivals today.
(4) I Give was one of those rivals last start but he has the advantage of gate speed and settling position. If the lead is favourable today this horse’s chances increase significantly.
(2) Cotton Fingers has the same form as the favourite so has to be considered if the favourite is. That said, he’ll need to produce a miracle to beat the favourite if it turns up the same as it did on local debut.
(10) Magnificent Nine win

Race 10: Yuen Long Hcp (C3) - 1400m (19:45 AEST)
(3) Joyful Hunter still has so much untapped potential to my eye. If i had to pick a horse to make it to the top ranks out of C3 at the moment it could be this horse.
(4) Leslie exploded to win last start and can be expected to run well again after such an explosive performance last start.
(1) Beauty Crescent was 2nd to Leslie and had to navigate a path just as the winner did between horses. It’s possible with more racing room he can turn the tables with a positive weight swing but he is short.
(3) Joyful Hunter win
