Randwick Racing Tips: Wednesday, October 18th 2023
Race 4: James Squire BM78 1550m at 3:40pm AEDT
(1) IKNOWASTAR ($2.30) – 4YO Gelding who has been in terrific form with three wins in a row. All by more than a Length! Most recent win comes here in this grade where he blitzed them by 3L. Rises up 150m in distance, but is still in striking range. Gets a 3kg claim which puts him right in this. Goes well.
(2) TOURISTIC ($5.00) – 5YO gelding who hasn’t been all that far away of late. Gets a drop in distance which may be what he needs here and can run a race again here at a decent price. Keen to watch.
(1) IKNOWASTAR - Win
$2.30 (2 Units)
Race 5: Bivouac First Yearlings BM72 1800m at 4:15pm AEDT
(8) LOVING CILLA ($5.50/$2.00) – 7YO Mare who flew home last start to salute for punters at a nice price. Will need to carry an extra 1.5kg this time round, but on paper looks capable again against these others. Draws pole and will probably need some luck from the inside lane as she will want to sit midfield/backmarker. With some luck she will be flying late and be in it at an each way price.
(9) PORT LOCKROY ($2.80) – 3YO colt who won his maiden nicely over the mile and then took on open class and only finished 2.5L off the winner. Back in grade now and gets in with only 54kg. The rise in trip will only be beneficial after previous outings and will be hitting the line well.
(8) LOVING CILLA - E/W
$5.50/$2 (1 Unit)
Race 6: The Agency Real Estate BM72 1300m at 4:55pm AEDT
(7) VINNIE’S SPIRIT ($8.50/$2.10) – 4YO gelding from the Waterhouse stable who is teaming up with Hyeronimus again here which has been a nice combo of late. Ran nicely last start carrying top weight, but the winner was just too good that day. Up in class today, but on paper looks no harder than the previous and he gets 3.5kg off his back. Looks value at an each way price and will take catching if he can jump well and dictate the race.
(10) SCHWARZ ($1.85) – 3YO colt who was dominant on debut winning by more than 3L after being well supported in the market. Deserve respect off that win, but rises up to BM72 and the others have more experience here. Will definitely be around the mark, but at this price id prefer to watch him go round this time.
(7) VINNIES SPIRIT - E/W
$8.50/$2.10 (1 Unit)
