Newcastle Racing Tips: Wednesday, November 27th 2024
Race 5: Davali Thoroughbreds BM68 – 2300m - 3:45pm (AEDT)
(1) Vaguer $7.00/$2.20: 5YO gelding who has been racing well this prep and won nicely 3 back over 2100m in tougher grade. Gets back to easier grade now and gets a 3kg claim which puts him right in this at a price.
(6) California Grass $8.00/$2.60: This mare had been rather disappointing all prep and then was very good last start over 2400m. Drops slightly back to 2300m and gets back to 68 grade. If we see another handy run like last start there is no reason why she can’t play another role at odds.
(11) War Ribbon $3.40: This 3YO is having a nice little prep with a third, two seconds and a handy win last start winning by almost 4L. Looks a promising stayer and no reason he can’t win again.
(11) War Ribbon
$3.40 (1.5 Units)
Race 6: Red Funnel Food Distributors Mdn Plate – 1300m - 4:20pm (AEDT)
(1) Jared $6.50/$2.00: 4YO who has had some handy runs, but just can’t seem to win. 13 starts with 8 placings. Expect improvement again now being third up and he gets a good draw. Each way.
(10) Rubis Serve $7.50/$2.25: 4YO Mare who hasn’t been all that far away and only finished 3L behind Private Harry two runs back who has since gone on to dominate. Third up now and has a good record on this track. Each way chance.
(14) Star Of Paris $2.15: 3YO Filly with only the 2 career starts, but has been close on both occasions. Draws a sticky gate, but expect her to be beating these others here. K-Mac on board for Lees. Top hope.
(14) Star Of Paris
$2.15 (4 Units)
Race 8: The Prince Of Merewether Mdn Plate – 1500m - 5:30pm (AEDT)
(1) Altair I Am $6.00/$2.20: 4YO gelding who looks ready to peak third up. First two have been good and expect him to be hard fit for this now. Small spec in the market early and if he doesn’t get caught wide from the gate he will be around the mark.
(6) Great White Shark $6.00/$2.10: 3YO who drops back to provincial level and only finished 1.5L behind El Castello two runs back. Fitter third up and expect a bold showing at an each way price. Goes well.
(8) Omnic $3.40: 3YO gelding who looks ready to break maiden today. 5 career starts with 3 seconds and was unlucky not to win last start. The rise in trip suits and he gets a handy enough draw. Maher stable are on fire and so is Chad Schofield, so this combo looks dangerous. On top and looks the one to beat.
(8) Omnic
