We're looking to carry the Sha Tin form to Happy Valley on Wednesday night where the races do admittedly appear challenging and competitive from a betting perspective. A few shorties early on in the card could be the best hopes for the night. Check out our best bets for the Happy Valley card below and good luck if following!
Happy Valley Racing Tips: Wednesday, September 27th 2023
Race 2: Swallow Hcp (C5) – 1650m (21:15 AEST)
(1) Right Honourable joins the Mark Newnham stable this season and has been trialling the house down leading up to his return here. He drops into C5, has Zac Purton aboard, finds a very thin race and was going very well last season especially over this trip where he’s won 5 times previously. Looks hard to beat.
(7) Medic Elite is the obvious quinella choice here. He ran well returning and will benefit from that run now 2nd up.
(4) Faithful Trinity will lead the race and can prove hard to catch fresh here if the tempo suits. Good 1st up record too.
(1) Right Honourable win
$2.10 (2 units)
Race 4: The Hkex Cup (C3) – 1800m (22:15 AEST)
(5) Turin Mascot returns here off a win last prep over 2200m under Zac Purton. His trials have indicated enough to suggest he’s forward and ready to run well here resuming. He maps to get the perfect trail behind the leader on the rail and should be extremely difficult to beat from there.
(1) Natural Storm is the obvious danger and has the run under the belt to give him the fitness edge over the favourite. Concern is how much further back in the field he’ll be especially given the extra 4.5kg he has to carry compared to the favourite.
(7) Majestic Victory can throw in some good performances every now and then. Maybe one to consider for exotics with the big claim from the apprentice jockey tonight.
(5) Turin Mascot win
$2.80 (2 units)
Race 7: Honeyeater Hcp (C4) – 1200m (23:45 AEST)
(1) Baby Crystal will run well here after disappointing late last season at short odds and with huge market support. He’s given signs of a strong return with a trial win in the off-season.
(10) Around The Globe was also slightly disappointing to end last season as a favourite failing to win but has trialled relatively well leading up to his return. Is capable.
(7) Lucky Archangel was completely blocked for a run when 5th returning last start. He’ll have added fitness and deserved to finish closer 1st up under Zac Purton.
(1) Baby Crystal win
$3.10 (2 units)
Race 8: CUCKOO HCP (C3) – 1200m (00:15 AEST)
(4) Solid Impact gets the edge here over Wonder Kit as he has the fitness edge, is far better drawn, has Hugh Bowman aboard, and ran very well 1st up with not a lot in his favour. Gate 3 tonight means Hugh can land much closer and stalk the pace up the inside. With clear running he could gap these.
(5) Wonder Kit is the one to beat after a demolition job to end last season. He’s trialled just as well as he ran last season but is drawn poorly and 1st up so might need one or two runs to find his best. Short.
(10) Tomodachi Kokoroe won 2 trials leading up to his return here. Has no weight to carry, gets gate 2, and should settle right on the heels of the leader.
(4) Solid Impact win
$4.80 (1 unit)
