AFL Round 15 Preview & Betting Tips
Sydney vs West Coast
SCG, Saturday June 24th, 4:35pm
The Swans are 15th on the ladder coming into this game but there is still plenty on the line here as a win would get them right back in the battle for the top eight. They have lost their last two games in a row and are still battling a long injury list that will see key players in Lance Franklin, Tom McCartin and Peter Ladhams missing.
The Swans will get a small influx of talent back in the side though, with Callum Mills, Isaac Heeney and Logan McDonald set to return from injury.
It been a long 18 months for the Eagles and the pain looks like it will continue for the foreseeable future. They have the longest injury list in the league and will be without key players in Nic Naitanui, Jake Waterman and Liam Ryan for extended periods.
There’s not a lot to analyse in this game. The Swans will certainly win against this undermanned and underdone West Coast side, but will they do enough to cover the monster 57.5 point line.
The Eagles have lost 11 straight games, and six of those 11 losses have come by more than that 57.5 point margin. They are coming off their biggest loss of the season in Round 13, a 122 flogging at the hands of the Crows in Adelaide where Taylor Walker booted a career best 10 goals.
I’m staying away from the 57.5 point line and opting for the unders instead here. The Swans defend the smaller SCG pretty well having kept teams to 66 points or less in three of their five games there this season. I think the Eagles probably struggle to score 40+ on Saturday.

Will Hayward, Logan McDonald & Joel Amartey 2+ Goals Each
Going for something a bit different with our same game mutli for this game, taking three of the Sydney to hit the scoreboard twice each. The Swans should score 120+ here and it will be a good chance for the forwards to fill their boots. Amartey looked impressive last week against the Lions, clunking six marks in the loss. With Callum Mills, Luke Parker and Isaac Heeney all back in the side, Hayward will resume his role as a permanent forward while Logan McDonald has booted 16 goals in 9 games this season.
