Randwick Racing Tips – Saturday, June 24th 2023
Race 4: 3yo Bm72 – 1300m (12:45 AEST)
(1) Contemporary is the clear top selection for this race. He’s motored home in his last 2 races after jumping well but being forced back from wider barriers. He’s drawn similarly here but finds a race with far less pace which may enable him to settle closer in the run.
(7) Overriding has scorched the Newcastle track in her 2 recent runs so deserves her crack at a city race this weekend. Koby Jennings will know her well by now, she’ll just need to handle the big occasion to perform well.
(4) Step Aside is nothing if not consistent. Yet to miss top 2 in 6 career races and although he’s drawn wide here, he looks a promising 3yo on the way up. Nice value.
(1) Contemporary – E/W
$4.40/$2 (2 Units)
Race 7: Bm88 Hcp – 1800m (14:30 AEST)
(15) Bazooka has not been far off some talented runners including Steely and Democracy Manifest in recent races. He’s an emergency so will be counting on a few scratching’s but if he gets in, he’s drawn well and has a big stake in this race.
(1) Brutality has been contesting some quality races recently and may just find this a touch easier. He has to carry a big weight but will be aided by a low barrier draw and hopefully soft run.
(4) Super Strike endured a tough run last time after being backed quite noticeably prior to the race. He’s a good each-way price this time with a 2nd chance to find a more comfortable run and produce what he’s capable of producing.
(15) Bazooka – E/W
$8.50/$2.90 (1 Unit)
Race 8: Listed Civic Stakes – 1400m (15:05 AEST)
(6) Cisco Bay gets in well to this race having scorched the turf last start beating Steely. He’s drawn perfectly in gate 2 to get a great run and is clearly the horse in the best form of this field.
(12) Waihaha Falls is a big chance in this race having performed well in other black-type events this prep but he’s too short. Gate 16 will be tough to overcome for this horse and his record overall isn’t good enough to confidently back him as favourite in such an open race.
(4) Art Cadeau has been below his best in recent runs but can quickly bounce back to form as he has done previously in his career. He’s drawn well and is a big price for a talented horse.
(6) Cisco Bay – E/W
$7.50/$2.50 (1 Unit)
