Two struggling sides in the Dockers and the Hawks face off in the west at Optus Stadium, hoping to turn around a disappointing season. I’ll provide my suggested bet for the match as well as a same game multi.

AFL Round 8 Preview & Betting Tips
Fremantle vs Hawthorn
Saturday 7:30pm AEST, May 6th, Optus Stadium
No one really expected much from the Hawks this season as they are clearly in the midst of a rebuild, but they were pretty awful at times to start the season. They have shown a bit in their past couple, pushing the Dogs until late last week and losing a heartbreaker against Adelaide two weeks ago. Fremantle aren't going nearly as well as those two sides, so the Hawks would fancy themselves here to pick up a much-needed win.
The Dockers too, are struggling this season, winning only two games, one of which was against the hapless Eagles. So far, they are unable to back up last season’s success, which saw them reach the finals. Some of their performances have been average and they’ve lost their past couple by a combined 107 points. They are now back at home, which is a clear advantage and even though this may look a game to get their season back on track, I don’t think they should be as short in the market as they are ($1.30).
For that reason, the Hawks at the line appeal. They are close and knocking on the door of another win, and with this being one that is right within reach, I think they cover and go close to winning.

Will Day 25+ disposals – He’s been improving with each season, and now in his fourth year, he’s averaging a career-high 25.8 and been one of the Hawks’ best. He returned from suspension in last week’s loss to the Dogs and recorded 30 touches and a goal. Expect him to get plenty of it again.
Karl Amon 20+ disposals – Maybe not having the start he would have liked this season but is still averaging over 20 touches a game.
James Worpel 20+ disposals – Ticking over nicely this season and comes off one of his better games of the season against the Bulldogs. In the current form he’s in, he should clear this mark.
