NBA Betting Tips: Thursday, March 30th 2023
Dallas Mavericks at Philadelphia 76ers
Wells Fargo Center, 10:30am AEDT
The Dallas Mavericks finally got themselves back onto the winners list with a big victory over the Pacers on Tuesday. They dominated from start to finish to win 127-104 and snap a four-game losing streak. Still, the Mavs have plenty of work to do in order to make the Play-In Tournament, as they currently sit in 11th in the West (top 10 qualify).
The Philadelphia 76ers will be looking froward to returning home after recently finishing an unsuccessful four-game road trip in which they went 1-3. They lost against three Western Conference contenders back-to-back-to-back, which isn’t an ideal outcome for one of the contenders in the East.
Although the 76ers struggled on the road, they now return to play at the Wells Fargo Center where they have a dominant 26-11 record. In contrast, the Mavs have a dismal 15-24 road record this season, and this leads us to believe it could be a one-sided affair when the pair meet on Thursday.

Miami Heat at New York Knicks
Madison Square Garden, 10:30am AEDT
Struggling to consistently put wins together this season, every game is now vitally important for the Miami Heat. They enter this contest having lost each of their last two by blowout margins and that’s not the sort of form that will see them feature in the post-season. As it stands, the Heat are seventh in the East, but there are plenty of teams hot on their hammer.
The New York Knicks have enjoyed a much-improved campaign under head coach Tom Thibodeau. They enter this slate 10 games above 500 and are all but locked into the fifth seed in the East. The Knicks put an end to a three-game slide last time out against the Rockets who they destroyed by 22 points.
Although they aren’t in the best of form right now, the Knicks are the deserving favourites in this matchup and should be able to defend home court with a near full-strength squad. I expect them to get the better of the Heat, just like they have in three of their past four meetings.
New York Knicks -4

Los Angeles Lakers at Chicago Bulls
United Center, 11am AEDT
Making what once looked like an unlikely push for a Play-In Tournament berth, the Los Angeles Lakers will be eyeing off another win on Thursday afternoon. The Lakers may have lost their most recent game, but they’ve still won seven of their last 11 games, and that’s the sort of form we didn’t see from them before all their moves at the trade deadline.
Likewise, the Chicago Bulls have found their footing in the season and are also making a push for a Play-In spot. As it stands, they sit in 10th in the East and are 1.5 games ahead of dropping to 11th. The Bulls have won seven of their last 10 games and have looked a different team since Patrick Beverley started suiting up.
Both teams have had to deal with injuries to key players at certain stages this season, but both enter this at meeting at nearly full-strength. For mine, the Lakers are the far more talented team when fully healthy and should be able to negotiate an important win with all the experience they have on their roster.
