The card presented to us tonight at Happy Valley looks a nice one. There are numerous horses going around throughout the meeting which I’ve been following or blackbooked from recent efforts. Three of those runners are presented below and I’m expecting them all to perform well tonight.

Race 2
(2) Righteous Arion would’ve won his way out of C4 last time if not for hanging out in the last 100m and costing himself the win to Snowalot who shot up the inside to win by a nose. He’s drawn better here and gets a repeat chance to win and progress which he should be doing.
(1) Harmony N Home does not deserve to be this short. The Zac Purton factor is in full swing here after this horse went around double figures his last few races and is now a $4 2nd favourite. He is drawn well in gate 1 but isn’t as progressive as the favourite here and will have to be incredibly good to win.
(11) Happy Trio is flying. He’s drawn horrendously in this event which may cause him some trouble in the run, but if he’s able to find a spot early and save some energy, I’ve no doubt his strong form will continue.
(2) Righteous Arion - Win

Race 4
(10) Happy Angel was unlucky last start when getting caught 3-wide with no cover for most of the 2200m race. There was no chance the horse would win from there but he was selected on top in that event and stuck on bravely considering how hard he worked. He gets back to 1800m this time and draws gate 4 so looks likely to land a much more comfortable position from which he can launch an attack in the straight and hopefully salute.
(9) Reach Goal took advantage of the extra pace and shuffling of the leading pack last time where Happy Angel was caught wide. He’ll have to beat that horse on its merits this time but is not out of the equation by any stretch.
(1) Flying Silver is the benchmark for this field and knocking on the door of C3 company. Hugh Bowman should give him a good steer and a good opportunity to continue on his winning ways.
(10) Happy Angel - Each Way
$7/$2.40 (1 Unit)
Race 5
(1) Flying On The Turf is doing just that at the moment. He lines up for yet another winnable race drawing well again under Zac Purton who has stuck with the horse for all 3 of his recent wins. Hard to beat.
(6) Timestorm has appeared on the scene recently at the top of race markets after finding a decent vein of form and putting in some respectable runs for minor placings. He’ll need to reach a new peak to beat this favourite but is the closest danger on paper.
(2) Victory Scholars is a distant 3rd pick here after running well enough last time but laying in under pressure. The claim will help but the wide draw won’t and he looks one for minors.
