AFLW Round 7 Betting Tips
St Kilda vs Carlton
Friday 6:10pm AEDT, Moorabbin Oval
Two teams coming off bitter losses will be looking to bounce back as Round 7 kicks off with St Kilda hosting Carlton. Carlton were thoroughly beaten in an upset loss to the Giants, while the Saints threw away a golden opportunity to upset Collingwood in a two point defeat.
Accuracy in front of goal will have a massive role in this clash, with St Kilda only kicking more goals than points once this season. Carlton on the other hand have kicked more goals than points in four of their six games this season. Although the Blues have been accurate, they’ve struggled to score, averaging only 21.5 points per game this season. Carlton have only kicked two goals across their last two games.
Both St Kilda (2-4) and Carlton (1-2-3) both sit two games outside of the top eight, and the finals hopes of the loser will be over after Friday night. Carlton are 3-0 against St Kilda, with an average winning margin of 30 points in those three wins, including a 46 point victory when the two sides last met in February. It’s hard to have much trust in either side, but Carlton match up incredibly well against the young Saints.

North Melbourne vs Brisbane
Saturday 6:10pm AEDT, Arden Street
Arden Street hosts the biggest fixture of the weekend as the ladder leading Lions take on North Melbourne. Brisbane bounced back from their first loss of the season with a dominant performance against Essendon, registering 22 scoring shots to 3 in a 44 point victory. The Kangaroos were also outstanding in Round 6, annihilating Sydney 67-1 in a brutal performance.
After a 1-2 start to the season, North Melbourne have won three in a row and are now just one game off top spot. Brisbane have scored a league best 57 points per game, and also ranked 4th for fewest points against (19 per game). Brisbane’s attack has allowed them to own territory and let their defence set up to strangle opposition sides.
Brisbane are 2-0 against North Melbourne, with a 36 point win the last time they faced off in March. Although the Kangaroos have been excellent over the last three weeks, the Lions are simply too good all around the ground. Brisbane’s average winning margin this season is 45 points, so the -13.5 line won’t provide any issues for the best team in the league.

Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
Sunday 3:10pm AEDT, Casey Fields
Two storied clubs of the competition face off at Casey Fields on Sunday afternoon as Melbourne host the Western Bulldogs. There’s big consequences for both sides with Melbourne fighting for top spot, and the Bulldogs fighting for a position inside the top eight.
The Bulldogs suffered a heartbreaking one point loss to Geelong last week, and have lost two consecutive games after starting 4-0. Melbourne have had an impressive fortnight after their first loss of the season with 42 and 30 point victories in their last two games. The Demons attacking game has gotten going kicking seventeen goals across their last two games, and it’s difficult to see the Dogs finding a way to stop the Dees red hot forward line.
Casey Fields has been a fortress for the Dees who have won thirteen of their last fourteen at the venue. The Dogs have never played at Casey before, and it’s a difficult adjustment to the conditions for away sides. Melbourne have won four of their six encounters against the Western Bulldogs, and they’ll extend their winning streak to three games with a convincing win over the Dogs.

More AFLW Round 7 Tips
West Coast vs Richmond - Mineral Resources Park, Friday 8:10pm AEDT
West Coast suffered a shock loss to Hawthorn last week, and now face a rampaging Richmond who have won four games in a row. The Tigers have beaten the ladder leaders and two top ten sides in that run, continuing to find a way to win. Richmond are 2-0 against the Eagles, and shouldn’t have any troubles picking up the win on Friday night.
Tip: Richmond -27.5, $1.90 with Ladbrokes
Sydney vs Gold Coast - Henson Park, Saturday 1:10pm AEDT
Sydney’s tough introduction continued last week with a 66 point smashing at the hands of North Melbourne. The Swans are 0-6 this season with an average losing margin of 40 points, and they’ll be in for a tough afternoon against a Gold Coast outfit that has shown plenty of promise this season.
Tip: Gold Coast -32.5, $1.90 with Ladbrokes
Adelaide vs Fremantle - Unley Oval, Saturday 3:10pm AEDT
The Crows are the form team of the competition, with a combined scoreline of 160-4 over their last two games. The red hot Adelaide side will get a chance for a third straight smashing, when they host seventeenth placed Fremantle. The Crows are a genuine chance to go three weeks in a row without conceding a goal.
Tip: Adelaide -28.5, $1.90 with Ladbrokes
Hawthorn vs Port Adelaide - Skybus Stadium, Saturday 7:10pm AEDT
Remarkably the Hawks have a chance to pick up a third consecutive win when they take on Port Adelaide in Frankston on Saturday night. Although Hawthorn have picked up back to back wins, they don’t have the established talent to match it with the Power who will be out for redemption after a disappointing Showdown performance.
Tip: Port Adelaide -11.5, $1.90 with Ladbrokes
Essendon vs Geelong - Reid Oval, Sunday 1:10pm AEDT
The AFLW heads to Warrnambool on Sunday afternoon, with Geelong and Essendon meeting in a genuine eight point game. The Cats are a game inside the top eight, while the Bombers are a game outside the top eight. Essendon has struggled against strong defensive sides this season, failing to kick more than three goals in each of their last three games against top eight sides. Geelong are in sixth because of their strong defence, and it will be the difference against the Bombers.
Tip: Geelong -9.5, $1.90 with Ladbrokes
Collingwood vs GWS - Victoria Park, Sunday 5:10pm AEDT
Collingwood got out of jail against the Saints last week to make it five wins from six games, with the Pies sitting in fourth place. GWS are coming off a stunning upset over Carlton, but they simply don’t have the quality to match it with the Pies, who have been able to win even when they haven’t played at their best this season.
Tip: Collingwood -22.5, $1.90 with Ladbrokes
