Adelaide vs North Melbourne Betting Tips
Adelaide Oval, Saturday 13th August, 2:10pm (AEST)
Adelaide
Injuries: Will Hamill (out), Luke Brown, Andrew McPherson, Josh Rachele, Paul Seedsman, Rory Sloane
Hamill will miss this week after entering concussion protocols, while the rest of Adelaide’s absentees will not be seen until 2023.
The Crows have put together a solid fortnight of footy, recording wins against Carlton and West Coast. The victories were a deserved reward for Adelaide, the team having lost some close games and remained competitive throughout the majority of the season.
While they sit 15th with seven wins, 2022 has been far from a wasted year for the Crows who have unearthed some players for the future – Darcy Fogarty has stepped up as he prepares to take over as the #1 forward from Taylor Walker, Sam Berry has been a revelation in the midfield and the likes of Jake Soligo and Josh Rachele look like fantastic long-term prospects. Meanwhile, Rory Laird has put together a career best campaign and classy utility Jordan Dawson has been one of the recruits of the year. That being said, a couple of wins to close out the season would be much appreciated by Crows faithful.
North Melbourne
Injuries: Miller Bergman, Will Phillips, Jared Polec, Tristan Xerri
Ben Cunnington will finally play his first game of the year after overcoming testicular cancer in what is a touching good news story.
North Melbourne are limping towards the end of the season after a brief resurgence one month ago, having suffered three consecutive losses to the tune of over six goals. On the bright side the Kangaroos are managing to score, however all three recent opponents have put 110+ points on the board, showing that there are some significant defensive deficiencies for North to address in the offseason. The decent attacking returns have been driven by forwards Nick Larkey and Cam Zurhaar, who are giving their all every week to preserve some dignity for the white and blue. Larkey has been particularly impressive, kicking seven goals last week against a stingy Sydney side in a career game. Expect the youth to continue getting opportunities in the final fortnight of the season, as one of the toughest rebuilds in football continues.
Match Prediction
Adelaide would love to make it three on the trot in front of their home fans this weekend and should definitely do so given the gulf between the sides. Furthermore, the Crows have won the last three games between these teams by 40+ points, which points to an easy victory.
Both teams have hit the scoreboard well in recent weeks given their lowly ladder positions, so I expect this to be a high scoring encounter. As such, Adelaide should have no trouble covering the line.

Berry has been one of the finds of the season from an Adelaide perspective, fully embracing his new role as a full-time midfielder in the back end of the season. He has hit 90+ points in three of the last four weeks and comes up against a weak opponent this week on home turf.
Sam Berry 90+ Fantasy Points ($1.82 at Ladbrokes)
Medium-sized forward Shane McAdam has had an up and down season, missing games through injury throughout the campaign in between patchy periods of form. He found his touch last week with three goals and has performed strongly against North historically. If this weekend is a high scoring blowout, expect him to get on the end of a couple.
Shane McAdam 2+ Goals ($1.83 at TAB)
