Saturday racing in Sydney takes place at a very wet Randwick track. The card is jam-packed full of ten races and there looks to be plenty of good betting opportunities throughout the day.
The track is currently rated a heavy 9 after huge rainfall across the state this week. With that being said sun is forecast for Friday and Saturday so we could possibly see an upgrade.or two with Randwick draining so well. The rail is out 9 metres the entire circuit.
As always, Billy Bestford has cast his eye across the program and brings you his free horse racing tips, including best bets and race previews.
Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday July 9th
Race 2
Getting stuck in early in the Highway today and I think (14) I’ve Bean Trying looks a promising horse coming through the grades. Deserves a chance in town after a solid start to his career, winning three of six. More importantly he is unbeaten from two runs on heavy ground and comes into this 3rd up set to peak. Maps for a nice run from the good draw and providing the gaps come at the top of the straight I think he can progress past Highway company.
(5) Running Bear will put himself up on the speed and always gives a good sight. In these sorts of races he is a horse who is likeable, taking luck out of the equation. Has been running very well this prep and handles wet.
(3) Tags comes back to Highway grade following a 3rd in a midweek bm72. Four placings from four heavy track runs shows he will handle conditions. Gets Bowman on but the map is the concern as he has a few issues leaving the gates.
(6) Klopp could be the one at big odds which runs well. He’s won his last couple dictating terms in front and could just do the same again here. This is another step up but he is going as well as ever.

Race 6
Willing to take on the fav here who strikes a heavy track for the first time. With that in mind I think (6) Conscript looks a great chance coming into this 2nd up. Will take big improvement from the fresh run and was a real eye catcher flying home there. There doesn’t look too much speed in this so expect he can settle closer today and Tim Clark should rate him perfectly. Just think he looks a backable enough price.
No doubt (1) Easy Single will be tough to catch here and is a super honest sprinter. Came within a nose of winning here last start when having first run in Sydney and you have to trust the stable placement again. Gets some weight relief with the claim but I just think he’s a touch skinny in the market.
(9) Fastconi let down well last start and comes into this near enough to peak fitness. He has a very good 4th up record and can get a nice trail in behind the leaders today.
(2) Snowzone loves it wet and has had a little freshen up trial since finishing 2nd here in a similar sort of race to this. He is super honest and no doubt will figure in the finish.

Race 7
Think (11) Waihaha Falls looks the best on the card following a dominant first up display. He rises in grade now but drops right down in the weights, only carrying 52.5kg after the claim. He’s handles wet tracks in the past and I think he looks to have come back in top order. Kept on the fresh side for this which is when he races at his best and will be powering home again.
(9) Snippy Fox looks a very big danger just looking at her 2nd up and heavy track form. Ticks plenty of boxes there and this is a step down in grade from what she last contested. Back up to 1200m is another tick.
I think (1) Inn Keeper can improve getting back onto a wet track. He’s the top weight for a reason because on best form he is certainly right up to these. Been a while since his last win however.
(3) Dream Circle has to go into the numbers somewhere resuming on a track he loves and should get conditions to suit.

(7) Cross Talk looks a nice way to round out the day. Should find the front here with T Clark aboard and comes into this off a very good run. Only run down late by Jojo Was A Man who has since won again. 3rd up now and staying at 1400m looks suitable and I doubt we are yet to see the best from this horse. Absolute swimmer.
If (14) Cyclone Sally had drawn a bit closer I’d have been tempted to put her on top. Always wary when Mick Bell brings a mud lark to town and she was actually nommed for the Winter Stakes earlier in the card. She is flying, winning her last two in dominant fashion. Just not sure where she gets to in running.
(18) Papal Warrior can improve here at a big price. Never a chance fresh but should take fitness out of that and is better as he stretches out in trip. Wouldnt’s surprise to see him finishing off strongly.
(13) Per INaway is going to have to get back from the draw but is ready to peak now 3rd following two good runs. Looks ready for 1400m now.
(9) For Valour looks next best.
