Optimism will be starting to build at Gold Coast that an AFL finals berth is possible. The developing team have put together a more consistent campaign in 2022, but if September action is to be on the cards, then wins against sides like Adelaide are crucial.

Gold Coast vs Adelaide Betting Tips
Metricon Stadium, Sunday 19th June, 3.20pm (AEST)
Gold Coast
Injuries: Lachie Weller (out), Malcolm Rosas (out), Josh Corbett, Ben King, Jack Lukosius, Rory Thompson, Bodhi Uwland
Lachie Weller will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a serious knee injury, creating a hole in the Suns’ defence which will need to be filled quickly.
On an even ledger at 6-6, the Suns will be fired up for a big second half of the season. Consecutive wins over Sydney and Fremantle have been the highlights so far, while a two-week visit to Darwin before the bye proved to be especially fruitful. The key to Gold Coast’s improvement so far has been continuity, with Levi Casboult and Mabior Chol providing consistent performances down forward and the engine room of Touk Miller, Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson getting the job done from week to week. Jarrod Witts has also arguably been the best ruckman in the competition this year, servicing the midfield expertly on return from injury.
Adelaide
Injuries: Fischer McAsey, Paul Seedsman, Rory Sloane
Adelaide has a relatively healthy list but Seedsman and Sloane have been dearly missed.
The Crows started the season with plenty of promise but were exposed during a tough run into the bye, losing four of their last five matches. The issue facing Adelaide is clear, they just can’t kick winning scores. Too great a burden still rests on Taylor Walker to kick bags of goals and the smalls just aren’t getting it done when the ball comes to ground. On the upside, plenty of players have improved in 2022, led by the likes of Sam Berry, Jackson Hately and Jordon Butts. Jordan Dawson has been an astute signing in defence and the Laird/Keays combo has been at its best more often than not.
Match Prediction
The Suns have won two of their last three matches against the Crows and it is hard to see them going down in front of a home crowd on Sunday.
There is definitely more upside for the Queensland-based side, although Adelaide will field arguably the best team it has put on the park all year.
As such, I can’t see the margin blowing out in this encounter and I expect the Crows to be in the game for a fair portion of the contest.
With the line looking a bit harsh on the Crows, I’ll take their near five goal head start for this match.

Prop Bets
Someone will have to fill the void left by Lachie Weller at half back and I can see Ellis getting a boost in usage. He has hit 20 touches seven times this season and Adelaide tend to let players accumulate the ball in the back half.
Brandon Ellis 20+ Disposals ($1.55 at TAB)
Miller will have stiff competition in this market, facing off against ball magnets Rory Laird and Ben Keays, however I back the Gold Coast star to come out on top. There are a lot of mouths to feed in the Adelaide midfield now with Laird, Keays, Crouch, Hately and Berry all playing on ball, so I could see them sharing more than Touk will be required to.
