It’s another big day racing this Saturday, highlighted by the first day of The Championships at Royal Randwick while Bendigo plays host to the Golden Mile.
Billy Bestford has cast his eye across the two meetings to bring you his best free racing tips for the day.
Today's Racing Tips: Saturday April 2nd
Bendigo R3
(1) Shalaman started favourite on debut, running a solid enough 2nd to Letrollthedice who then went on to with the G2 Sires. That’s strong form and this horse trialled up well before the debut run. Onto a dry track now should suit and I think he goes very close.
Randwick R6
(3) Letsrollthedice looks a good value bet here and brings an unbeaten record into this race. Was an impressive winner in the Sires last start, bolted in on a very heavy track on debut and he is proven at 1400m. At an each way price I’m happy to take the chance that he handles Sydney.

(10) Cardigan Queen should be winning this with even luck. Certainty beat last time out when tight for room at key stage in the straight. Flashed home to just miss and should be cherry ripe to peak now. Nearly ran down Barb Raider two back. Draws wide which gives her plenty of room to wind up.

(1) Nature Strip will be primed and ready 3rd up here with Chris Waller the best grand final trainer there is. The wide draw is perfect and he can follow Eduardo across to get a good run up on speed. Up to 1200m is key for him now and I have no doubt he will put in his best performance for the prep. If he runs to his best he just wins.
Bendigo R9
(3) Corner Pocket is a super honest horse and knows how to find the line. It took Zaaki and Inspirational girl to put a stop to his winning streak last start while back to 1400m is a big tick for mine. He goes forward and gets a nice run here today with a claim on his back. Will be extremely tough to run down.
